AKRON, Ohio, Jan. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- GOJO, the inventors of PURELL® Hand Sanitizer and the leading global producer and marketer of skin health and hygiene solutions for away-from-home settings, announced today it has launched GOJO SMARTLINK Service Alerts, an Internet of Things solution that through the use of predictive analytics helps to ensure hand soap and hand sanitizer are always available for critical hand hygiene events in a healthcare facility.

SMARTLINK™ Service Alerts is designed to provide a healthcare facility's staff with real-time monitoring of refill status, battery life, communication and dispenser status for GOJO dispensers. This new technology, which is easily integrated with the SMARTLINK™ Hand Hygiene Monitoring system, improves operational efficiencies by saving labor time and costs and provides enhanced inventory management, which results in reduced product waste.

The solution works by collecting usage and status data for each GOJO-monitored device. GOJO technology then collates this information and sends not only real-time updates, but also predicts when a dispenser will need to be refilled via web portal, email or mobile device. This data allows a healthcare facility's staff to focus on just-in-time inventory planning and reduce waste by knowing the exact date of when a new refill will be needed.

"Ensuring soap and alcohol-based hand sanitizer are always available at the point of care in critical care settings helps to reduce the spread of infection," said John Lerner, SMARTLINK™ Solutions Business Development Vice President, GOJO. "Designed with the user in mind, this new and innovative solution allows those using this technology to have complete visibility to a dispenser's status to ensure the dispenser is always filled and in good working order."

The SMARTLINK™ Service Alerts product is the newest addition to the SMARTLINK™ solution. Other components include:

  • GOJO SMARTLINK™ Activity Monitoring System monitors and measures compliance on a community level, providing real-time actionable data by facility, floor, unit or room.
  • GOJO SMARTLINK™ Integrated Technology is compatible with most leading healthcare technology platforms, such as Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS), and provides hand hygiene compliance at an individual level by communicating with RTLS-enabled employee badges.
  • GOJO SMARTLINK™ Clinician-Based Support provides GOJO clinicians who become part of the hospital's infection prevention team and provide customized implementation, on-site audits, setup, baseline measurements and detailed improvement plans.
  • GOJO SMARTLINK™ Observation System is a mobile application and accompanying web-based software that facilitates the collection and collation of hand hygiene and personal protective equipment metrics.

GOJO offers a breadth of hand hygiene solutions to the healthcare market, including high-efficacy formulations, advanced technology dispensing systems and the SMARTLINK™ Hand Hygiene Solution that is built upon a state-of-the-art electronic compliance monitoring platform.
