Just back off an Oceania cruise. No masks for guests ever. Negative test before embark, and that was it.

loganairthats not my recent experience and looking ahead im actually put off by the high prices, i have cruised twice since covid, the preparation and documentation is a huge pain and at timeswonder how people less than tech savvy actually manage it, the only real restriction on board was 4 to an elevator and masks when moving around or in the theatre..this sounds much more of an issue than it was in practice...i heard rumours that entire decks were not used...all in all it was just like cruises before covid

What I've been hearing is that the cruise liners are having to drop their up front ticket prices by 20% to 30% to fill their boats then are hoping people spend more when on board.

A reminder.

First quarter 2022 ended with $7.2 billion of liquidity, including cash, short-term investments and borrowings available under the company's revolving credit facility.

As of March 22, 2022, 75% of the company's capacity had resumed guest cruise operations.

The company expects to have each brand's full fleet back in guest cruise operations for its respective summer season where it historically generates the largest share of its operating income.

the virus is not done with us, not by a long way, there are no other options, cruise liners are the biggest petri dishes you can get, noro virus is super common tooand brings with it its own restrictions….there is no reason to just throw caution to the wind wrt covid considering the age of the average cruiser…

At the end of the football league last Sunday, fans across the country were hugging and kissing each other for the successes of their teams or comiserating their failures. Same with the managers and all the staff. All crowded together and everyone healthy and happy.Then you look at the passengers queuing up to get on a cruise liner. Mostly pensioners ( younger people have given up ) walking slowly, socially distancing wearing masks and having to 'produce their papers' what a calamity.The sad thing is that governments and cruise liners seem to think their customers prefer it that way.

Got to be a fund raise coming and / or a warning surely. There cannot be that much downside now though surely unless viability is in question. I don't think the cruise business can have deteriorated that much from their last statement?

I’m in agreement with those that have made comment that Carnival now oversold.

It's only one guys opinion, 8 brokers have it as hold, 2 as a buy and 5 as a strong buy, they have been like that since the price was 15 to 16 dollars

18 May 2022 - CCL-Carnival Cruise Line announced it would pause some onboard events and limit the number of passengers sailing on some of its liners due to crew shortages.

CCL's Brand Ambassador John Heald said in a post on social media that the company was unable to bring more crew on time due to "the situation with the United States Government who are themselves short-staffed.”;
