30/4/2022 10:28 | PanActually on board azura just now, second time, it and ventura have the worst layout in the fleet, buffet is a disaster and main atrium is small and uncomfortable, lots of nice bars, food and entertainment very good | stansmith3
29/4/2022 16:47 | Thanks both | panshanger1
29/4/2022 16:38 | Thanks @Sardine2 much appreciated | panshanger1
29/4/2022 15:25 | This design is used by several cruise lines. In the P&O fleet Ventura and Azura are of the same design with Azura being the newest in the fold. Cruised several times on it including a Canaries cruise and a cross Atlantic to the Caribbean cruise. Always cruised with a balcony (very nice). Has all the facilities of a larger UK cruise ship but we did particular enjoy an evening drink in the bar at the top on deck sixteen at the stern This is also a good spot when leaving port. Madeira comes to mind. Did happen to notice that suite punters could have their evening meals in the speciality restaurant without paying a surcharge rather than eating with everyone else in the main restaurants. Watch out for booking one of the larger balcony cabins on a lower deck as these are all overlooked by four or five decks above offering little privacy. S | sardine2
29/4/2022 14:43 | Semi off topic Pierre any thoughts on the Azura - thinking of doing the P&O Jan canaries cruise seems great value | panshanger1
29/4/2022 09:25 | CCL is much more of an attractive proposition than in 2018, ex covid. Almost all small inefficient, expensive to run ships dumped (accelerated due to covid) and replaced, or to be replaced, with bigger, cleaner, cheaper to run ships with 4 and 5 times the capacity. OK, some don't like mega ships - that doesn't matter since they can fill them with people like me who like any sized ship. iona cost 750m (according to what i last heard, the time before istr someone saying it cost 2bn). bofp estimate show even the higher cost is earnt in less than a year in revenue at full capacity, and not much longer in gross profit. Anyone like to estimate the payback time? The risk i see is not the very high profits if they run at capacity, but whether they'll be able to fill them (or >90% say). As by far the best value holidays out there, my view is the number of people cruising will continue the trend of increasing rapidly (ex covid). (another concern for me is the slave labour aspect which enables these low priced high value cruises. All I can say is that the barmen/cabin cleaners/chefs etc all seem extremely happy with their lot - and it's just often the ents team who often think they get a raw deal ime). | pierre oreilly
28/4/2022 19:33 | I agree 50 pounds in October 2018 was some share price, but it does give us a view of what is possible. At 13 pounds a share taking even a 12 month view it's a sound investment. Traders like me have had a great time jumping in and out, I'm able to afford to sit tight when my trade goes against me. At some time it's going to break out, up, hopefully I'm on board when that happens | jan-mar
28/4/2022 12:26 | Another great tip from Pierre. Thanks! Please keep them coming. Please keep calm guys, we can all help each other make a few bob if we combine our knowledge and skills. Over twenty five years now (old ESI and ADVFN days) I have learnt a great deal from the BBs and formed my own investment strategies. Many people are trading CCL, which lends itself to day trading and especially trading the channel. Buywell3 has pointed out the channel above. I am a investor and CCL is an industry which I have participated in which is of interest to me ( The Zulu Principle ). My goal is to earn more than I can invest in the normal banking channels. I am currently invested in CCL with a targeted sell set at 15%. This I have already done once this year. It may not be much but I am happy with this and have several similar investments in three different stocks. I am also of the opinion that £18 - £20 is a good short term price target. Chaps let us all pull together. S | sardine2
28/4/2022 09:36 | A tip for anyone booking p&o. Before finally committing, ask for £30 each off the price to pay for the pre boarding COVID test they have just loaded off themselves and onto punters. My agent didn't bat an eyelid. | pierre oreilly
28/4/2022 09:19 | Bye then. Nice job at turning a simple share price question into a fiasco. If that is how you behave I am astonished no one has taken you to task before. No more justifiable responses from me as the board does not need to read that and you have me on filter. Wink. | stansmith3
28/4/2022 08:56 | Jan-marThanks, I agree from a business point of view ccl look pretty good now, my earlier point was that with the recent share issuance pre covid prices were unlikely to be reached.Best | stansmith3
28/4/2022 08:48 | I forgot to add, the war in Ukraine will end at some time and energy prices will return to normal levels | jan-mar
28/4/2022 08:45 | I'll give you my share price prediction for 2022, 15 pounds by the end of quarter 2 end of June, 18/20 pound by year end. Reasons, end of all Covid restrictions on all cruises, occupancy rates back to pre Covid levels, remembering a third of revenue comes from on board sales, billions of pounds saved during various lockdowns, some of which will be spent on holidays. | jan-mar
28/4/2022 08:31 | It was a simple question which I answered with a simple and obvious answer. Perhaps if you don't like the answer, next time you ask me a question could you also supply me with the answer you want? Tia.Oh, and welcome to this (previously) friendly board where we have managed, up to yesterday, without your type of gutter language.---------Bu | pierre oreilly
28/4/2022 00:26 | Some folks have asked advfn if they can change things so that header titles could be updated to suit prevailing trading conditions eg Carnival (CCL) Carnival - cruising higher ----------------- could now show ----------------- Carnival (CCL) Carnival - cruising lower | buywell3
28/4/2022 00:24 | Ah yes, don't forget the debt. Like every company in fact (or almost all). They borrow at a certain rate, then invest in their business hopefully to make much more than the rate they pay on the debt. That is sort of the idea in a capitalist system. The fact they can borrow money is a sign of a healthy company (Ditto raising cash by issuing more shares). And debt adds to the enterprise value of course. I think, like almost all quoted companies, ccl has issued probably millions per cent more shares than it was originally formed with (in contrast to your 50% estimate). As to what i think they'll rise to ... well substantially in excess of £13 on a 2 to 5 year timescale, and dividend income during some of that time. Care to tell us which debt free companies you invest in, which also haven't issued more share in the past? What price do you expect ccl to rise or fall to? ..... | pierre oreilly
27/4/2022 23:53 | What are you expecting the shares to rise to? Haven't they issued about 50% more shares and then there is debt.... | stansmith3
26/4/2022 20:30 | May have to site tight for awhile | jan-mar |
