Next one for us is round the uk in June, on Princess (1st time with them). Wife's idea, I'm not too keen since we get very little on board credit and so i'll have to spend some actual real money during the cruise. Like to go north mid summer for the 24h daylight, but North cape/Murmansk looks not doable this year, so the Orkneys will have to do.

Survived the last couple of weeks on the qe. What a fantastic cruise it was - not even any rumours of anyone with covid or norovirus or anything else. Had to divert on the way home to drop off some unfortunate lady who broke her shoulder and tried to manage with just a sling - bad move. Brilliant service/food/entertainment/dancing/painting and lots of other stuff we don't take advantage of - by far the best value holiday possible. Grab a cruise while you can is my advice. Some cutbacks, lobster only on the menu once in the two weeks whereas used to be each formal evening. No free drinks 'parties', but stella was only $3.50 a pint (+15%) (on special, all other drinks very expensive).

The future cruise deposit wheeze has now ended - that was an easy way of getting an extra $400/$600 on board credit, so that will change the net price a bit for us (effectively about a 15% discount), but there's $250 credit for being a shareholder (another about 10% discount) still available.

Poor old carnival has been hit and hit and hit again over the last 2/3 years - amazing how they keep going (thanks to the Saudis for pumping in billions) and supplying such a fantastic experience.

I can't see a cease fire happening it looks like total destruction of Ukraine is on the cards due the west's reckless encouragement for Ukraine to fight on whilst we look on and report from the sidelines

All Baltic cruises to be rescheduled, understandably. The qe sailing with 1400 ATM, really pleasant, enough people but nowhere crowded. Apart from mask wearing, a pretty normal cruise. Cunard have stopped selling future cruise deposits, so bang goes lots of onboard credit. Counter productive imv.

Have heard from friends on P & O Ventura's 5 week central american cruise that there are just 950 passengers on board who are looked after by 1000 crew.

We were supposed to be on this cruise but when the itinerary was revised in mid January removing all the US ports and Bermuda (presumably down to the risk of not being able to berth due to restrictions) and subsituting with miscellaneous Caribbean islands we cancelled. Wonder how many other passengers cancelled.

Gather from our friends that within the first two weeks of the cruise there have also been two further changes to itinerary due to "medical emergencies".

Honestly can't see how this cruise on a ship which has a normal capacity of some 3200+ will be making much money.........
