>pierre,

Princess Grill. Is it worth it? Yes! It really is Cunard's jewel in the crown. Every thing is first class, quality of food, cooking, presentation and service, and I haven't covered choice of menu. In addition to a good selection of dishes starters, mains and sweets you can order whatever you like. I placed my order for the evening meal at lunchtime. I lived on fillet steak and lobster for a week. Food quality and service was on par if not better than the best restaurants in the UK. The wine list was to match as well. I don't really know what the difference is between Princess and Queen's Grill except Queen's Grill you can have whatever you want, where and when you you want it. Probably having your own table is a rather nice touch. It is always there. The grills experience is just a part of the package as you have the suite as well. This they fell down on badly. For once while not travelling steerage with Cunard we were most disappointed to be left to find our own way to our suite while boarding - What happened to those little men in red with round caps. (That was very poor). The suite was first class and you could get lost looking for one of the loos. But where was the complementary bar? They seemed to do their best to hide and keep this perk from you. Where also was the butler? He clearly was in hiding - What does he do anyway? We always had far better service from the room steward down in steerage! However, not missing a trick when boarding late we ran up to the restaurant and was served a first class lunch only to find that we were then seated for afternoon tea before going to explore our suite, and the ship had not even sailed. Would I do it again, and it wasn't cheap. Yes! It was a way of saying thank you to a first class business partner
who had done so much for us over a lifetime. We have sailed on Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth several times but never the very big one. Finally, the lobster and beef Wellington dishes served by P&O and Cunard on Gala nights cannot be faulted. First class!...S

Looking at Princess Grill, is it worth the extra money, currently booked in a Balcony, interested in your views please?

Remember the Cunard staff have to do whatever you want (within reason). So on celebration nights, asking for the main course lobster as a starter leaving the beef wellington for the main won't be questioned or raise an eyebrow. (Assuming you actually want both). Also free room service. The QE is my favourite ship. Dress code relaxed a lot recently, for the better imv.

princess definitely better than p&o, p&o are best value, but the way the booking process is based on fear and offering low lead in prices that need 1000 added to them if you want to select your own room is straight up stupid, completely at odds with the great experience on board

Arcadia restarted cruising today, so that's the whole p&o fleet now back in business.

And a big new ship Arvia joining the fleet later this year, on sale now.

Yep, a couple of months ago. We thought it was fantastic. Food great, the quays really handy for freshly cooked Thai, fish and chips etc. Entertainment first class, but that just depends who's on. Went to 710 club 3 times, queuing for 30mins each time. Only downside for us was no dancefloor. I must say I can't be too fussy because Ive really liked every cruise we've been on, big ships, small and medium. QE is my favourite experience. Trying Princess for the first time next month, so we'll see how that goes. I honestly can't see how you think the Iona boring. We always can't fit everything we want to do in in general. We come home for a rest after a cruise. The shows in the SkyDome were crack though, for kids I think. Female singers were painful due to the acoustics, but strangely didn't affect male singer so much.Iona prices are very low, I think many must think like you, but there are real bargains to be had.

Pierre. Have you been on the Iona. Went to Canaries in Feb (right on the bad weather day). Boring is best way to describe the Iona, entertainment, food and ambiance. The 710 club was the exception but that often had 'house full' notice up 1/2 hour before the band started playing. The best entertainment I had was someone trying to pick my pocket in Tenerife. Stick to Cunard or P&O Britannia.

Good luck what ever trade you do, I was lucky last time round got some at 11.07 which bought my average right down and was able to get out first thing Monday in profit as I thought they might drift down.

I think you're right. My plan is to short into the relief rally, if and when the hostilities calm down. The 'cost of living crisis' will still be with us. Stocks that are exposed to lower and middle income discretionary spend. Travel, leisure, big ticket items etc.

Thanks for that, Morgan Stanley have cut it's price target from18 dollars to 17 dollars, the average analyst recommendation on Carnival is a "hold" while the median price target is 22.75 dollars. So in short nobody knows, my view is long term it's a buy, I'll trade the dips for the time being. If the bombing stops and cease fire is agreed the markets will fly for a few days. Jus5 my opinion

It's from a Morgan Stanley note to clients written by Jamie Rollo, Thomas Allen and Adrija Chakraborty. I don't have access to the note myself but I certainly believe it exists. Without seeing the full note it's difficult to assess whether or not their analysis stacks up. However, even if it doesn't, it's likely to have some influence on the market short term.

I'm trading and was in profit so got out. Long term still a great bet, but will trade the dips, look forward to seeing what they say tomorrow, the general feeling with the brokers are it's still a hold. The end of quarter 2 should see the real move up as they have indicated they will be back in profit. Until then I can see it moving about a fair bit, like today
