Another brilliant coup by Neill. Barriers removed within Europe after Brdxit.Plus the small man can get to participate at the expense of big boys who probably are looking for loose change in the petty cash boxes being the weekend.This is big news Mondsy and the AGM will be interesting.

Yes, it sounds like a great opportunity to get into Europe and at a very small cost, this is unlikely to spook the share price l think it will go higher of the back of this, not just collaborations but hard facts going forward, I'm in for a few, well done Neil & co, cheers

LONDON (Alliance News) - Advanced materials engineering group Versarien PLC said Monday it made "significant advances" through its collaboration with Warwick Manufacturing Group to incorporate its graphene nano platelets into power storage devices.

Shares were trading 8.2% higher at 136.30 pence each.

The company aims to significantly increase the power storage capacity of batteries and supercapacitors by incorporating graphene nano platelets into the devices.

The company said it "looks forward to commercial products becoming available in due course".

Additionally, the group said it entered into a collaboration agreement with ZapGo Ltd, a technology business focussed on developing a new class of energy storage device.

The two companies will develop projects involving the incorporation of Versarien's graphene nano-platelets into Zap&Go's supercapacitor type devices in order to enhance their performance, Versarien said.

Finally, Versarien said that its subsidiary Cambridge Graphene Ltd has been awarded GBP1.2 million in a grant from innovate UK to develop and bring to market graphene enhanced flexible printed batteries for electronic wearable devices"

SO,It dovetails into supercapacitors and IOT wearables (cambridge inks). A great fit ? Aimo best ellis

My guess is that 'shorters' got wind of a fundraising (surprise, surprise...) but will actually be very disappointed that it is only 1.8%... shares can't exactly tumble very far particularly bearing in mind where the money is going (probably hoped it was for 'ongoing expenses' which as Neill says are not needed)...

I think they'll be closing first thing Monday if they have any sense. (Mmmm...I know what you're all thinking in response to that comment...Oh well, burn then!)

I have tried a few times and would only accept at max 2k shares. Just gone through but states "You will be notified of your location when the results are announced."

Was always concerned that Europe was not on the cards as they don't appear to have embraced VRS .... yet!

They will need a bit of space there to produce Nanene on site I would guess. A great way for VRS to remain part of the EU?

I have just managed to subscribe for a few thousand shares.Only just got home from work and seen the notification so quick read and jumped in. The problem with PB is you have to have cash available and I don't keep much in current accounts, worse towards the end of a month, so limits the amount I could purchase. I would have taken more if I had the cash.

Neill tweets 'buy early and develop' comparing this move to 2dtech and cambridge graphene ! Eye for a bargain thus far, and developing these v nicely indeed. Keeps VRS at forefront new materials revolution. Tech firms need to keep in the top 3 to prosper. Great positioning. Aimo.dyor. Best ellis

I can't see how anyone knows if their application via Primary Bid was successful. Just because your debit card got zapped isn't confirmation that you were allocated anything.

Or, have I got that wrong? Did anyone's application get turned down?

Regarding share price reaction I remember IQE raising £60 millions at 140p. The shares ended the day at more than 170p. Here we are talkng about 2 million shares only to be oversubscribed while at IQE it was over 40 million shares. IMO VRS will probably go beyond £2 next week.
