--Daimler AG (DAI.XE) plans to increase its passenger-car production to 3 million vehicles by 2020 and invest more than 3 billion euros into production sites abroad, Markus Schaefer, the head of production at Mercedes-Benz cars said, German auto-industry weekly Automobilwoche reports.

--Mercedes' compact-class models will be assembled in Aguascalientes, Mexico, starting from the third quarter of 2018, while by the end of 2019, a new facility will be built in Kecskemet, Hungary, according to Automobilwoche. Daimler plans to add another site in Beijing.
