WASHINGTON--Dallas nurse Nina Pham, who fell ill with Ebola after treating a Liberian patient who died in the U.S., is free from the virus and will be discharged from the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center, officials said Friday.

Ms. Pham had been transported from Texas to the Bethesda, Md., facility Oct. 16. NIH officials are set to offer more details about her treatment and recovery at a briefing 11.30 a.m.

Ms. Pham and another nurse contracted the virus at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas while treating Thomas Eric Duncan. Mr. Duncan, a Liberian native and the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S., was admitted to the hospital on Sept. 28 and died Oct. 8.
