Watchful Software, a leading provider of
data-centric information security solutions, announced today the
release of RightsWATCH Version 4.4. This new version of RightsWATCH
significantly increases the ability for corporate users to protect
their most valuable asset by ensuring that sensitive data can only
be viewed or used by authorized users regardless of where that
information may be located.
"RightsWATCH blends together the key principles of both DLP and
ERM solutions by classifying information according to its content
and only allowing users with the appropriate credentials to view or
use data that is sent to them," stated Rui Melo Biscaia, Director
of Product Management for Watchful Software. "This keeps
information safe from either accidental or malicious security
breaches, and keeps information secure regardless of whether it is
at rest, 'on-the-fly,' or even if it's totally outside network
perimeter defenses."
For users of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Rights
Management Services (RMS), RightsWATCH extends and enhances the
Microsoft AD-RMS paradigm to include, both, content and context
aware encryption, forensic audit and compliance tools, and smooth
deployment of security policies throughout the organization,
without adversely impacting user experience. In addition,
RightsWATCH 4.4 allows users to classify/encrypt/protect a wider
array of data types, and to allow users to leverage mobile
platforms such as tablets and smartphones to use protected
content.
"RightsWATCH allows our Microsoft-based customers to extend and
enhance their investment across a much broader spectrum of both
applications and data types, which speeds and increases their ROI
from the security investment," added Gary Leibowitz, Vice President
of Sales and Marketing for Dexa Systems, a Watchful Software WAVE
Partner. "In addition, the new version allows a much easier rollout
of the AD-RMS value throughout the enterprise, coupled with
powerful forensics and management of the AD-RMS controlled
environment."
Key enhancements that RightsWATCH 4.4 brings to AD-RMS
include:
- Extends DLP and rights management protection to new data types,
such as Project, PDF, Visio, and more;
- Extends DLP and rights management to additional environments,
specifically the exploding mobile/BYOD world including Windows
Phone, iOS, BlackBerry, and (2013) Android;
- Delivers powerful yet intuitive management console for audit
trails, forensics, and investigation of security breaches;
- Allows truly transparent rollout and implementation of an
AD-RMS infrastructure without requiring additional user effort or
impacting user experience.
