I failed to include The Zap & Go collaboration agreement, announced 18-07-02, in my post #24495. Adding the Zap & Go collaboration agreement takes the number of collaborations up from 14 to 15.

Zap&Go

Versarien is pleased to announce that it has entered into a collaboration agreement with ZapGo Ltd ("Zap&Go"), a high technology business focussed on developing a new class of energy storage device with considerable functional improvements over current commercially available supercapacitors. Zap&Go's technology and growing patent portfolio is in part derived from Oxford University research, and in part developed independently by Zap&Go's own scientists. Zap&Go work with a number of Chinese partners to manufacture their technology.

Versarien and Zap&Go have agreed to collaborate on research and development projects involving the incorporation of Versarien's proprietary Nanene few layer graphene nano-platelets and other Versarien supplied two-dimensional materials into Zap&Go's supercapacitor type devices with a view to enhancing their performance, specifically through the increased electrical conductivity of the supercapacitor cells.

Grabster - Nice hat! - Defo the original Inov8 shoes R&D was not done with Nanene - Some speculation that maybe GO used instead via Manchester Uni - But they call their product "Graphene" enhanced - Could be they have switched supplier for their commercial launch & kept themselves on right side of trade descriptions re forthcoming ISO?

Drawback to that theorey - Surely VRS would have to confirm such a decent profile (and first?) commercial sale by RNS?

PC as someone who has a primary to retail food business I am very interested in the benefits of recyclable materials and the benefits of nanene, my customers are mostly middle to higher end and I have definitely noticed increased enquiries since the start of the year re plastic packaging, any improvements to the address this issue would be most welcome IMO

Fest

How can they have no forecasts for DA 2018 to replace the $5 mill revenue claim when H1 is complete and no doubt orders known.

Quite clearly a don't want to admit it red flag scenario to me.

The forecasts were purely to excite potential investors so we'll have to wait and see re $2 mill or so for H1 2018 for DA.

🤥

Look at the sharers/followers.
We are pretty sure (aren't we?) that inov8 shoes don't buy their graphene from Versarien ;-)

I remember them Spike from this and various other shares.

Very important imo to keep an eye on PIs in a share, especially active BB shares.

Hence as posted at the time of the recent news, steady is best to keep the flipper, herd, gamblers and fruitcake types away.

The last thing about TERN from me...I'm completely baffled about why every RNS they released seems designed to wreck their own share price. It's never ramping, that's left to some of the idiot posters, many of which have suddenly turned bearish. It's actually deramping by the company themselves. It makes no sense to me.

sg I did the same thing with Aja this morning following his answer: Aja, did you come on here to talk about VRS or gabble on about TERN

aja5: I know everything I need to know about both, tnx

This from someone who I don't recollect ever posing before on here, and it's not that he doesn't post - he made roughly 60 posts about TERN in the last 10 days.

So .. seems to me he has ... ahem ... an agenda ;0)

Best wishes - Spike

Pcjoe,
Than you for your post on Flexenable going into mass production (in China) from this month.

I wouldn't be surprised if this relates to the recent mentions of unbreakable phone screens ;0).

Clearly the potential (and relatively near term) is enormous just for this one use of our ink. (Assuming Flexenable (based in Cambridge) are still using our ink, and no reason to assume it isn't).

Best wishes - Spike

People who shop in M&S & Waitrose are a different Bunch ( Im an Aldi/Lidl man myself)- The cost of goods is way down the priority list it seems - I think Waitrose are 25% plus more expensive than the German crew - Its all about the cache of shopping there & the perceived (if mostly false) perception of quality superiority - The green ethos (recyclable plastics etc) will fit in well with their marketing position - Personally i dont expect the German outfits to allow themselves to fall behind on that front either - German consumers have been first movers & are rightly big on the Green scene & not quite so class weird on the costs front it seems

I took Matt Walkers 'deluxe' option response as a reference to sustainable graphene enhanced packaging rather than the fish fingers.

These VRS Tweetsters are a mischievious bunch - The single polymer packaging (and recyclable tray no doubt) obviously a big deal to M&S & a promise by them to get it sorted - Wouldnt be surprised if they are involved

'Plastics feel the heat from Westminster
by Philip Law

bpf-fire.jpg
In his exclusive column, Philip Law, Director General of the British Plastics Federation (BPF) gives a roundup of a busy month filled with meetings, round table discussions and active responses to consultations as the political spotlight intensifies on plastics.

Whilst the negative press coverage of plastics has substantially abated, partly because of press exhaustion with the subject and the lack of anything new to say, the political situation has intensified.

Plastics waste is but one of many issues on the government agenda and the attention of Ministers is very much preoccupied by Brexit and the occupancy of leadership positions in the government, indeed the leadership itself. Protagonists in the waste issue, such as Michael Gove, are acting as government firemen, despatched to resolve issues way outside of their formal brief.

A new dimension has been introduced with the government's commitment to fund the NHS to a much higher level. This has highlighted that the government is clearly strapped for cash. The temptation to target the plastics using sector for a 'smash-and-grab' raid must be high – and this is something the BPF is working to avert.

Industry response

We are diligently responding to any number of individual government consultations on ‘single-use plastics’ etc. We have attended round table meetings with Michael Gove, we have had one on one meeting with the Treasury Minister, Robert Jenrick, and we have had further round table meetings with him. We have arranged for Treasury civil servants to visit member firms to better understand the financial dynamics of the industry.

Yet the mists swirling around the government are still obscuring how all these initiatives, both UK and EU, will be interpreted and synthesised into government action. It is pretty certain that the Budget in November will provide the conclusion.

We are working intensively to influence MPs and we have had lengthy meetings with three this week. I had a meeting with Theresa May's Political Director at No 10. Downing Street on 10th July and Industry Minister Richard Harrington, on the 12th July. We have a meeting manned later in the month with the Policy Director of the Conservative Party.

Get engaged

We also want companies in the industry to engage with their MP. There's a lot of helpful material on the BPF website. So, what do you say when you are in front of an MP? Tell him/her that we share the objective of eliminating plastics waste; that we are recycling a lot already, we are extraordinarily innovative, constantly changing to provide society with what it wants as it evolves; that we are a huge economic asset to the UK which needs protecting to provide the high tech industrial base of the future.

Indeed, that government attention should focus on the reform of the PRN system and that monies should remain in the system to help develop collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure and new technologies; how a smash-and-grab raid would send out negative signals internationally at a time when we need to be establishing the UK as a global trading partner. Finally, that the competitiveness of the plastics industry must be protected domestically and internationally. Help us to help you.

Superg1 ... whatever shenanigans have taken place at Tern ... giving views on the share and /or investee companies is not always ramping. Yes some have but many haven't and fwiw many still think this will play out favourably including me. In the meantime I remain most definitely as a longtime holder here. Finally will put on record that I despise stock manipulation and misinformation both for the purposes of ramping and shorting. Bulletin boards are great for information but they are also shark infested waters ...
