24/7/2018 15:10 | Scrutable I have seen a few curse on many shares about unjustified smash and grab illegal raids. Those weird, at times seconds long, price dips. I took the 110p price here recently as a stop out hunt and attempt to shake out weak hands. The lack of shares available to buy and price spike straight after told us all we need to know there about MMs. | ![]() superg1
24/7/2018 15:10 | Singer are also on the offer spread 5p, looking good. | ![]() john henry
24/7/2018 15:08 | Singer now joint offer at 130p but now highest bid at 125p on L2 | ![]() cossie
24/7/2018 15:05 | Singer They have been on the offer since open yesterday. Plenty of time on their own there too which means they got a lump from a fund. Anyone slotting underneath them is simply flipping PI sells. Singer didn't seem to want to go under 126p. Once/if they run out any buys quickly take out those above them. As pointed out, on a day last week they took 300k off a fund then sat on the offer. I'd guess about 300k to 500k on this lump judging by how long they have been there. | ![]() superg1

24/7/2018 15:04 | superg. You are right to campaign against PIs taking out stops. They are an invitation to mms and particularly IG CFD and B/B platforms to create short lived down spikes and simply help themselves to our cash. I, once, incomprehensibly lost a six figure sum in a main stream company, which it was claimed had spiked downwards and then quickly corrected. The bottom price level which felled me, was not corroborated by any records of actual trades. I failed in my claim to have the lost position restored by the fact that the offending price quote had momentarily been recorded on Bloomberg. Under the Terms and Conditions that theft was lawful. Stay in command of your portfolio. If you need stops you should not be invested, - more so, when geared. When bad news comes overnight, and the mms slash the price before Opening as happened with that 'certainty' Immunopharma (IMM, ) stops are of no use at all. And of course there are no Certainties - even with VRS. Always be prepared for the worst. Buy near the bottom, Sell near the top. With £20,000 capital, you can make enough to live off the proceeds.. | ![]() scrutable

24/7/2018 14:42 | China: I have been catching up with my reading, reference a Moneyweek article 22 June 2018 titled “why China is it to hit the Great Wall of debt”, extract: “The problem, says McMahon, is not that China doesn't want to pull back, but that it can't: the need for GDP growth is "hard baked" into the political system. At local government level, officials have long been judged by their ability to grow the economy. Those at state-owned enterprises have been judged by how fast they grow the companies they run. And at the top, if Xi Jinping wants to deliver the "national rejuvenation" he has promised, growth is an absolute imperative.” and: “...So however good the intentions China has no choice but to keep leaning on the old model (debt-fuelled investment) as it tries to shift to an economy based on innovation, technology and import substitution.” My conclusion? China needs Nanene rather desperately! I don’t think they can wait :)) | hoverflyman
