So much effort gping into shorting this.

I agree on one point - the collaborations SEEM to be making slow progress.

However, when you look at all the foundations in place, the involvement of the UK and US authorities and the fact that graphene hasn't kicked off yet, it seems a crazy share to short

Not as far as I'm aware.

I'd estimate about 2-3 mill picked up total so far so plenty to go imo. Mostly picked up from the supply. A strong share price climb while it's been going on. 3% would mean about 4.5 mill needed for just one of them and for the 5% notification guys about 7.5 mill shares.

That MM attempt to get stock on the 110p game was outrageous imo, shame the FCA don't keep a closer eye on them.

They are reduced to door knocking for stock at higher prices it seems.

superg - recon any of the funds are near the reporting threshold yet? That would put a rocket under the share price if we got a TR1.

The holders are no there to take stock out on loan so they are left dabbling with whatever is in SB accounts.

SB companies lend out some of the stock bought by PIs.

They have had their bad news attempt on the results there isn't anything near term to assist them now. You saw what happened MMS tried it on and got met with buy orders, very few of which would execute. Each day just takes us closer to big news.

If they can't pick up from Matt, David and NR that something big is brewing them there is no helping them, BUT of course they will ignore that and hope that all others do too.

They didn't listen at 60-80p either and we now have 3 funds buying loose shares.

Scumbag crooks, if you try to make gain by false info then that's what they are.

There are so many shortable stocks that are easy to spot (Haydale has been on the slide for 9 months - and that's a company that some of them appear to think is a better graphene bet than VRS), that to be putting so much effort into trying to halt VRS's progress, HAS to be because the authors have VRS shorts themselves, and are losing badly - rather than just identifying VRS as the best available shorting prospect.

Dirty play will get dirtier yet - the more desperate they get.

The same mob who routinely make false accusations about IQE to back up their short position. Normally works for them I have to say. Just needs a few weeks of no news.

And the US government.

If anyone checks historic posts I said US gov connections think very hilly of VRS and NR before nay of the US stuff came to be.

I said the same re the UK gov.

I've also said the AIM bosses also think highly of VRS, on that point let's see what happens as we go forward. :-)

........and of course no mention of the Matt Walker secondment. You would have thought potential shorters would have been interested to know that the government thought VRS was worthy of this unprecedented move :-#)

Yeah, but fair's fair - he does have a huge job on his hands teaching Neill Ricketts how to run an advanced materials company. Sure to be a bit of slippage in the time he has available for his own clients. I mean - how would Neill cope if he didn't have all this guidance from Tim?

Of course it is Club, that's the whole MO of ShareProphets. Take out short positions, talk it down in "articles" that you then publish. Encourage others to follow suit and close out as they help drag it down. It's just the opposite of pump an dump.

Grabster, that is a very good point. I've been through the information a few times and it doesn't look very favourable for anyone sitting on big losses, even if the rules are a little confusing. There will be quite a few forced closes next week I'd imagine unless they can stump up the additional funds into their SB accounts. If they are trading on margin and leveraged up they should be very very nervous this week, a positive RNS on Friday might actually destroy at least one financially.
