24/1/2020 07:03 | This was an article last night in daily mail online (it may be in the paper today or tomorrow and I have mentioned this on the ShareSoc forum) - I think this may be the time to engage through ShareSoc with an extremely senior journalist with great sympathy for our plight and even suggesting possible solutions. Please sign up to ShareSoc as momentum could be building. Alex Brummer is not any journalist he is an English economics commentator, working as a journalist, editor, and author. He has been the City Editor of the Daily Mail since May 2000, where he writes a daily column on economics and finance. | ambience

23/1/2020 15:24 | Then they should have sought professional advice.Investing in mining companies is risky, and small companies with very little cash such as SXX even more so.It's not the Govt's responsibility to bail them out. I've heard from a few people who had the bulk of their portfolio in SXX saying the project was too big to fail. I said spread your risk because it can fail. Needless to say rather than reducing their holdings they added and have lost out big time. | kirtonender9

22/1/2020 20:39 | So will AAL start on the 1500m shafts down to get the rocksalt, or will they complete the new railway tunnel to Teesside first? and then have a bit of a think about the rocks ? | kreature
22/1/2020 20:26 | Db1umb that's very misleading of you shareholders did not get compensation. The people who bought the share placing got compensation. It's worth noting that I paying compensation to a sub set of shareholders would be at the expense of all shareholders. Sirius has no money so no compensation. There are 2 options. Reject the bid go into administration probably get nothing although there might be money left over. The second is to put the directors in jail if you can prove it. Wont help you financially now but 9ther sharks might think twice about scamming pis. The other sage advice applies. Dont risk money you cant afford and you do your research and take your chances. It's a fine line proving bad luck verses a conspiracy to RIP people off. One that's very very hard to prove. | ekuuleus

22/1/2020 17:38 | dp1umb that fine chap :) Personally I think that there are a good number of gaps in the story as do many others. It does no harm to seek answers. all the best | maxdoom
22/1/2020 17:19 | Max Doom I stand corrected RBS did offer compensation to shareholders who misinformed about the financial position of the company when participating in a rights issue, but Fraser hasn’t deceived us in the same way as mr goodman IMHO. | dp1umb
22/1/2020 16:52 | Ladies and gentlemen can anybody explain why people keep buying shares if all the shares are going to be turned into cash? | nige50
22/1/2020 16:06 | dp1umb: Well firstly I would say to you that RBS shareholders have won compensation after being misled at the last fund raising just before the collapse. BUT, I have not said anything about a class action etc. At this moment in time the objective is to get further information from Sirius Minerals regarding some of the circumstances, publications and decision making - the company has been extremely poor in keeping the shareholders informed since last July and is still being shy with relevant information that may effect how shareholders choose to vote, basically we are being ignored. People can choose to just vent on the chat forums or they can make their shareholding count, join the list and see what doors a much larger set of shareholders can open... Only with information can decisions be made, only with shareholders getting together constructively can the information stand any chance of being obtained.... and if at the end of that we find there is reason and cause and lacking then maybe I'll come and talk to you about class actions eh I would urge you to sign up, it costs you nothing except an email. | maxdoom |
