03/1/2019 13:07 | Apple's revenue is off by approx 10%, doesn't mean IQE is off by 10% so why does the share price of both fall by 7%? | davemac3
03/1/2019 11:31 | Directors do not speak to the news or press, with Drew being the exception. Currency Tailwind is only a "detail", as constant Fx is used for all comparisons. Unless LITE or another DIRECT customer come out with a revenue warning, then all is still good. All of the US companies will be reporting earnings in 3 or 4 weeks and we may learn something at that time. Buy on the dips. | yankeekraut
03/1/2019 10:52 | I see this hitting 69-75p range and 60p is the floor. Even a little positive news will explode the price. People are waiting to hear from Directors. So far currency tailwind will be helpful but material news expected very soon. | mhassanriaz
03/1/2019 10:52 | Apple is selling less to China because others are selling more as they are more competitive. All this means that IQE will supply more to China and others (Samsung) because competition is starting to bite Apple. So it is not a big issue for IQE as long as it compensates by selling more to others. IQE share price should be far higher than where it is now. | fuji99
03/1/2019 10:50 | Bulltradept. Same thoughts myself. The risk of an upward surprise in revenues / earnings for IQE in the short-term are nil. The downside risks are very clearly there for all to see. If Apple are warning then theres gonna be plenty of profit warnings to come from companies furthur down the supply chain. Risk/reward firmly favours the downside at the moment. | american idiot
03/1/2019 10:20 | Can't see how this is staying up so high, can't be long till this is trading below 55p surely? | bulltradept
03/1/2019 09:47 | Apple only count as 20% of our revenue, all 3 new phones have vcsels in , that’s 3x , more vcsels than what we produced last year . So it’s from Zero to Hero .We supply other phone manufacturers Huawei , OPPO Samsung ( I Hope) who are taking market share from Apple , this is way overdone , AMS down over 20%. This trade standoff can’t last long , it’s in no ones interest. By year end this will Be well over a pound . We own 90 % of the outsource epitaxy market after all! | grity
03/1/2019 09:25 | As the share price continues its inexorable slide back down to June 2017 levels and in the absence of encouraging news or other market-inspiring information from IQE's Investor Relations guru that might educate and encourage existing or attract new investors, excluding Apple let's see how many IQE customers we can name across their Wireless, Photonics, Power, Infrared and Solar markets.Let me kick this off . . . LUMENTUM - 3D sensingQORVO - RF products inc IoT; 5GSEAGATE (HAMR - Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording) | diplomat65
03/1/2019 09:12 | Just to cheer up long suffering IQE holders up, a reflection on the SP: ;-) | bulltradept
03/1/2019 08:08 | Less impact on the share price than I feared so far. Early days yet but perhaps the market is waking up to the fact that IQE is a lot more than an apple supplier. | bocase
03/1/2019 07:49 | It's a further reduction, from the earlier profits warning | tsmith2
03/1/2019 07:14 | With Apple now accounting for less than 20% of sales and Apple profit for the qtr. being only reduced from £70bn to £67bn and this slowdown being flagged a couple of months ago, one would think that there would be no impact on IQE especially as we have 25 major new customers. In any case I am sure the Board have been burning the midnight oil preparing an RNS telling the market about their undoubted successes to mitigate any impact on the value of the company. Please note my new address...now located in cloud cuckoo land | bocase
03/1/2019 04:58 | "Apple said the iPhone XR has been its top-selling iPhone since its launch" hxxps://www.cnet.com Is this not good news for IQE? The reason apple numbers arent good is their sales mix has shifted to the mass market vcsel phone (XR) more than they expected | thecrunk
03/1/2019 01:38 | Will be interesting to see move here tomorrow | tsmith2
02/1/2019 23:46 | The Apple news should already have been priced in IMO but sadly we will probably take a hit in the morning. Our other customers though are ploughing on regardless including one of our largest Qorvo. Dont forget Compound Semiconductors are not all about Apple. They are absolutely essential for many technologies going forward. https://www.qorvo.co | blueflame
02/1/2019 23:41 | I still believe that we are safe as markets are oversold the tide will be even higher. Demand for vcsels, 3d sensing, lidar and 5g is still intact and under development. Since when markets have been relying on a single player that is Apple. I understand general economic conditions are deteriorating but would people stop using devices and is the technology advancements going to stop ? New CFO is the key for us. Govt. invested in wales they have surely done their due diligence. Switch off and come back in mid 2019 to see growth. | mhassanriaz
02/1/2019 22:48 | bbonsall, its a furthur downgrade on the original downward guidance given a few months ago. Apple now expects to make only $84 billion in the first fiscal quarter, an 8% drop from the consensus estimate of $91 billion, and sharply lower from the previous revenue guidance of $89-$93 billion given just two months ago That's quite a drop ~ between $5b - $9b in such a short space of time. I would think there could be furthur downgrades to guidance during 2019 based on the speed of declining revenue. | american idiot
02/1/2019 22:27 | It was already known that Apple’s revenue would be lower than expected. So this is not new news. Yet the market, as usual, acts as though it has not been thought about already. The revenue prediction is only 7% less than expected, so the market reduces Apple’s share price immediately by 7% on the announcement. The share price has already fallen by 35% since October on the expectation of reduced revenue. Logically, the share price should have risen because the revenue is only falling by 7% when the share price has already suffered a far greater 35% punishment. We know don’t we that markets are far from logical! | bbonsall
02/1/2019 21:56 | This might be a not so clever ? But gona ask it anyway . As Apple are looking to buy back there stock with the Huge cash pile they have , would be very convient for them to mechanically drop the share price so they can load up more. | grity
02/1/2019 21:52 | Pm me when its in the 50's | bargainbob
02/1/2019 19:30 | For those who are unaware of the IQE/Bluglass collaboration, here is the Non-Regulatory RNS IQE issued on 29 November 2016 about the tie-up with the Sydney-based, listed, new breed semiconductor company using RPCVD to manufacture Group III nitrides used in utility-scale solar power and power conversion sectors:"IQE and BLUGLASS enter into a strategic partnership to develop a range of electronic applications.Cardiff | diplomat65
02/1/2019 18:29 | You'll all remember IQE and Bluglass have collaborated on RPCVD, wont you ? | zapa
02/1/2019 15:38 | ffs will this never end | adejuk |
