I don't bother writing to them anymore. They do not even have the courtesy to reply to emails. I sense they are contemptuous of investors like us sadly. Neil Ricketts over at VRS knows how to make his shareholders feel valued. He paid a personal visit to an elderly, infirm shareholder before Christmas who was unable to travel to a VRS presentation. Good luck to NR I say. IQE could learn a lot from NR's approach to PR which he manages himself alongside his CEO responsibilities.

I bet Mr Pullen had a finish date of 31st December and is taking a holiday, maybe a spot of skiing.
Newcomers are often taken down the local boozer first day.. or first Friday lunchtime. We can gatecrash, so who is going?
Wear a white lab coat with lots of pens in the top pocket and you'll be mistaken for an employee. ;-)
If I was Tim, mind switching off from old role, I'd certainly be reading all about IQE with gusto.
I am excited for him, so much going on and he is getting in at the (near) ground floor.

Tim, if you're reading this, no white coat for you, buy yourself a top notch tailor made suit. You only get one chance for a first impression and that includes the City boys. Your first week could well include photos hitting mainstream media!

Very best wishes.

Dave Smith.

"....positioned to capitalise...." to my mind implies not a lot of contracts in the bag yet, but hopeful of winning some. Maybe I'm unduly negative?

That said, Forbes is suggesting next major iphone revamp will have ToF rear camera along with better TouchID, but no 5G

Diplomat:

Excellent post.

Over on another board (HUR) we have confirmation that the directors read that board too. Of course they do. Why would they not. It is vital for them to know what the public perception is, right or wrong.

I agree about the vagueness of the update. Pretty meaningless when so much more could be said. At least it is a start. They could show the shorters the exit if they build on it.

Come on Tim Pullen. I am sure you read this too. Take the comments on board and make some changes to PR when you start.

I think with the "battering" they receive continuously from PI's, the management will definitely start being pro-active and will release some news soon.
I only hope this won't find anybody short.

Oh but they do Hornblower. Three of the Directors confirmed that very fact to me independently when I met them at a Wales Innovation presentation in London last year. I invited readers of this BB to give me questions to ask on their behalf during the Q&A session that followed IQE's presentation given by Dr Drew Nelson. I was approached afterwards by the Technical Director (name escapes me but might have been Phil Smith) and asked if I was Diplomat65 from the ADVFN board. He enjoyed telling me they recognised me by the questions I put to them.Back to the woeful PR efforts that IQE's share price are shackled by, Dr Nelson makes this statement at the end of Tim Pullen's welcome start date RNS issued this morning:". . . uniquely positioned to capitalise on a range of rapid high growth opportunities driven by adoption of our world leading technologies across multiple market applications."How vague can you be? Are RNS's charged by the word? Why can't he spell out what a couple of those opportunities are, which applications? Use words that potential new investors like Joe Public and Fund Managers in particular might understand and be excited by. Dr Nelson's words mean nothing to nobody. Invest some of the profits in recruiting a bloody PR professional . . . . PLEASE!!!!

Of course they don't read these boards.
They've got far better things to be getting on with.
They have real jobs to do and wouldn't waste their time listening to the raging mob of unemployed, uninformed loonies that make up this board (I include myself).

Well done IQE !

Is it a coincidence that we have been lamenting the lack of PR all weekend and the lack, even of a start date for Tim Pullen, or do they really read these boards and seriously consider the views of their shareholders. I would like to think so.

Coincidence or not. Good on them. Let's have more of it.

Good news, let's hope he recognises the need to keep investors n the loop and stop us appearing as being solely reliant on one customer

Tim Pullen to start on 4th Feb. Dr. Drew Nelson, IQE Chief Executive Officer, said:

"I look forward to working closely with Tim as the Group enters an
exciting phase. IQE has undergone a major transition in recent years and
is uniquely positioned to capitalise on a range of rapid high growth
opportunities driven by adoption of our world leading technologies
across multiple market applications."

From a chart perspective, VRS is looking toppy. IQE is imo going to bounce off 59p...again.
Apple looks as if it still has a bit further to fall. $136 would be my bounce point.

Look you sad people Apple is dead in the water. Ergo IQE is history. Move on. There are plenty of other good shares. VRS for example

Kazoom: am I to believe you are happy with IQE's PR record? FFS!
diplomat65

Maybe, the best PR - is almost none.
Because the news that they are not talking about is all bad.

Punters believe that the profits must be coming good.
The shorters believe that they are not.

Perhaps the management are not putting out the latest numbers - because the shorters are right.

Perhaps the management don't want investors looking too closely at the company - so keep the news flow to a minimum.

Even after the recent falls, the company is on a PE of over 28.
Is the hidden news good enough to justify a higher rating than 28?
Was it ever good enough to justify a rating of over 60?

I am not subscribed to shareprophets neither will I ever be but this serves to make the point that they know IQE are totally impotent when it comes to PR and they can publish whatever they want with impunity. Precisely the point I was making in post 23759.

Bocase. For clarity, I know you aren't a short termer, I said it by way of possible explanation for their seemingly investor cold stance.
I need to move some IQE shares from SIPP to dealing/ISA and short term shenaningans don't help and would have liked to sell a few to pay for new carpets.

..and as you say, the short term blip is turning into a medium term blip.

Para 2. Depressingly true.
Hopefully the new blood in new Finance Director will invigorate the BOD and then from within permeate out to cutomers/investors.
Can be difficult for an outsider to bring changes to an established long-standing group with narrow/focused mindset, trusting what they know more than "new" ways, so may take a little time after appointment for effective action in eyes of outside world.

IMO :-)
