Good to see Drew Nelson coming out publicly with statements like

Dr Nelson also told BBC Wales that "a recent drop in the value of IQE was a "short-term blip" as it prepared for a major expansion in manufacturing."

and

"It's a very short-term blip... demand fluctuates all the time and there are certain products which, if they don't sell very well, [have] an impact on the supply chain."

"In the long-term it doesn't make any difference at all."

Hi bocase, that 200p per share of yours sounds fantastic, but I almost certainly won't be around in year 2049 to benefit from it. Unless spare parts are more readily available by then?

However, 150p could still be-on-the-cards for 31-December this year.

All we need is a couple of Chinese outfits to get engaged in a 'bidding-war' and by year end Sheepy could find himself dipping into his pocket for £250? [See terms of bet below]:

Sweeney threw-the-towel-in on 3-December [IQE 74.3p], so he's very confident that 150p won't be hit by year end.

However, we've had huge reversals in the past. I remember someone on here once saying, "I've increased my target from 185p to 225p". And, it fell to 55p without ever reaching even that 185p.

So, a rise from today's 70.3p to 150p by year end could still materialise. GLA!

Well at least we finished in the blue (a much nicer colour) Only had to wait until 16.29 to be positive on the day. A small rise of 0.05p but at least up on the day. It is amazing how up 0.05p up feels so much better than 0.05p down. At this rate we will have no problem reaching 200p per share (in 2049).

Shares on loan have dropped by another 5m though since yesterday's RNS so will be interesting to see if any change on today's short tracker when it updates.

This show is being run by the Americans. Major holders and main shorters are over the pond. IQE is simply a toy for them to play with.

In contrast. Big drop reported today on the share price. Not slowly, but fastly. Every time I go to do a little top-up it drops further.

Whatever, I've just pressed the 'BUY' button [Barclays 'Quote & Deal'] at 68.85p and it says, "You've saved £1.50 with our Price Improver".

Maybe if I'd bought more I could have saved £3.00? Or bought none and saved £1,000's?

Regarding the Trading Update. You could say that we've only just recently had one [13-Nov.] so won't be getting another any time soon? GLA!

IQE have fully discounted their Q4 sales relating iPhone for this year, hence the previous excuse for the drop!

adejuk, yes, my reading is similar, that TRP have increased their holding while either recalling or having shares handed back to them (probably the latter as shorts close). So, they're still using this opportunity to top up, so their long-term outlook has not changed and they're still happy to accumulate, which is a nice vote of confidence.

Price movement over the last 24 hours or so may have been impacted by the recent story of China blocking some iPhone sales due to an IP ruling involving Qualcomm. However, it's clear that this does not impact the latest iPhones with the most up-to-date iOS, which will include the models with VCSELs. So, impact on IQE should be minimal.

I am sure you are right about patience. I spent many years trading CFD's on margin and whilst most but not all years I made a profit, it was very hard and very stressful, whilst the shares that I paid for and held with a longer timeframe had their ups and down but there was always an opportunity to sell at a profit and without the stress. It is with that mindset that I am invested in IQE.

I have some shares in Randgold which a few months ago were out of fashion with a falling gold price and were £46. Today they closed above £70 anticipating a break-out in the gold price. I believe IQE will have another similar good run and hopefully post new highs but sit back and let it happen. If you don't believe that you should not be invested but having a long term mindset certainly makes the bad days easier to take.

Guys it will be a greyhound come 2020, you just need to hit the “reset” button and keep the patience to reap the rewards.
