20/12/2018 20:07 | Grity - thanks for the link. Good marketing / PR job by AMS. I wish IQE would put out stuff like that. Still waiting to see if IQE can finally turn the corner and become a provider of "advanced material solutions" and shake off their "wafer foundry" image. | yankeekraut
20/12/2018 19:14 | We have a lot of positive stuff to look forward to in 2019 , and it all kicks off at the CES in January. This is just what one of our partners through the supply chain is showcasing. If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs ... If you can wait and not be tired by waiting ... If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim ... If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you ... Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it. GLA! | ![]() grity

19/12/2018 21:37 | nickwild, My comment was very much tongue-in-cheek. I've seen a fair few late afternoon, inexplicable jumps in share price which are followed by a 7am RNS the next morning. That's just what you seem to have to put up with on AIM, unfortunately. (still) CynicalSparky | ![]() cotswoldsparky

19/12/2018 13:58 | Agree, the parasitic worms manipulate the share price … it is them that dragged the share price lower, when they borrowed the share and sold them, nothing the company did at that time. They then became one of the "most unloved shares" because of the shorters in the main no one else. The drop in share price then triggers stop losses which drags them lower still. Don't want a takeover at these levels but would love to see the shorters stung with a big rise. | hannath
19/12/2018 12:47 | B&B I call them parasitic worms because it is their interest to undermine the reputation of a company rather than enhance it and if we have a young British company operating in a deprived area as IQE is then it is not in the interests of the company, the workers or the country to have its reputation undermined by false rumours spread by shorters. How would you feel if you were trying to build a company and shorters were constantly trying to talk your efforts down. Yes investors on the long side may get over exuberant but that does not harm the company only their own pockets. That is why I see shorters as parasitic worms who contribute nothing but make a living on the best efforts of others. | ![]() bocase
19/12/2018 12:39 | Hi bocase You say that shorters are 'parasitic worms' that undermine young expanding companies. Well a great company would never actually be bothered by whatever a shorter does, a shorter is not on the balance sheet, not a debtor or creditor? A great company will always flourish. I suspect what you meant to say was a shorter is 'parasitic worms' in the eyes of investors who wish to make a quick buck in the short-term? | ![]() belt n braces
19/12/2018 12:27 | tomyumgoong: I am pleased to hear that you are not short as I think shorters are parasitic worms, who undermine young expanding companies who are creating jobs and revenue for the country as a whole. Yes profits have been disappointing so far but expanding at 40-60% costs money with a ramp up in production and recruitment and training of staff. All of that comes at a cost which hits the bottom line. Combine that with tumbling US market, US trade wars, Brexit turmoil, the joined at the hip perception with Apple and everything else that is going on, it is little surprise that the share price is taking a breather but I do believe that we are about to reap the rewards of that investment and now is the time you should be buying. History tells us it is darkest before the dawn and the share price will discount future profits. By the time they become evident it will be way too late to buy in at these prices. | ![]() bocase
19/12/2018 12:18 | bocase,I am not short, I don't even know how to! But I think there's more pain to come here until IQE can make a trading statement that says ' Hey guys we've made a s&@t load of profit recently and it's gonna be even better the next time'What they've basically said is we've made £160m this year in turnover but haven't made any profit out of it! Profit is what counts! Cash in the bank! Not Jam tomorrow.....it's the Jam today the institutions(big money) want! | ![]() tomyumgoong

19/12/2018 11:39 | hannath,Your one of the old members of this bb that I remember and respect. I don't think your going to see another update this year! One was made recently, the day after the 4.20pm warning about Lumentum. Basically that said it all for me H1 profits diabolical, H2 more of the same! Turnover £160m but can't turn a decent profit. If I remember rightly there is still another gap to fill at about 38p........see you there in January! | ![]() tomyumgoong
19/12/2018 10:57 | I suspect that the board has currently run out of bullets and isn't sure when it will be able to get some more. If there is one thing that the market hates it is uncerttainty but it seems to be something that IQE delivers better than anything else.... | ![]() jamesrowe
19/12/2018 10:39 | Mhassan: Do we want to be taken over at a 30% premium even. I don't, not at 100p because that is about where any bid would be now. Maybe 200-250p in a year's or so. That would be more acceptable. | ![]() bocase
