Talk of a bid, whether it materialises or not has to at the very least support the share price. Backed by a forward 8.2% plus yield, it's got to be a good investment. Maybe there has been chatter and maybe Amanda Blanc, who I think knows very well what she's doing, has told the £6's to go away and come back with something sensible as the business is worth a lot more than that. Therefore nothing to report....

Got the divi, sold on Friday, will now wait for the inevitable correction to get back in. I am a long-term holder in this share but current market behaviour leads me to take profits when they are available

..c 2m shares traded in first 1.45hrs that's close to our daily average .

Given a terrible day for the market and no news on takeover, that's pretty good share price for Av.

Who knows we may even finish up today.

Yeah me too.
I was a buyer at sub 400 recently and am more than happy to do so around that figure now with the long shot of a takeover doing the rounds.

News out of middle east will not have helped matters this weekend so content to keep a watching brief and my own counsel

I hold AV. in my dividend account, so it's going nowhere. If I was looking at this through a trader's lense I would expect it to test the 400p floor and then motor higher.

EDIT: Just had a look at the chart. Depending on the trajectory, we should see 520-530p in fairly short order.

Surprised to see no RNS this morning. The initial 10% gain was definitely worth a company explanation, but the 5% finish could almost just be put down to a good day. I think the fur ball just blew itself out.
