Buffett and Co... yes they are good investors but this time around they may have missed the boat and it's in there interest to talk down the market so they can enter imo.

Everyone has an agenda.

Yes, think i read something like that too p0p.
It was his, and others, comments on the present markets that caught my eye.

Millie, I forget where I read it but about 4 to 6 months ago I was reading an interview with Buffet and even he admitted that the Stock Markets had changed so much if he was starting out today he would not be anywhere near as successful.

Ok pencil, yes that's very true. Good points.
It's just comments from like from Buffett & Soros worry me a little.

They are possibly amongst the greatest exponants of the stock market in modern history.

As such, we would be fools not to at the very least consider their views; even if we don't agree.
Food for thought tho.....

Milliethedog, governments on both sides of the pond support the markets one way or the other, threats of short bans, adding liquidity (whatever that means) or just plain buying of futures contracts has been suggested.

They can't afford for markets to drop after all of this stimulus, at least that's my take anyway.

Ok, i see that. But the DOW did fall to 18,500 in March on Covid news. Tech stocks or not.
Nasdaq now above 11,000.

Should there be a correction in the US then i think the FTSE will drop accordingly in my view. US sneezes & we catch cold, as they say.
October is a good month for stock market crashes!

..surely you're referring to the weightings in NASDAQ and S&P500 there rather than DOW..? In any case, the DOW is not at an all time high it would need about another 6% or so.

No. The DOW is heavily skewed towards tech due in main by the F.A.N.G stocks. It has become disjointed from historic valuation techniques unlike the F100. I suspect it'll power above 30k in fairly short order. spud

Am usually trading a set 5 – 7 shares at any one time. Trading the high's & low's.
BT, AV, LGEN, RDSB, IMB, LLOY....

I see the same members on some of these boards as I do here at times

Although not specifically Av related i'll post this question here.

Are any of you even slightly worried about the US market being over priced?
The DOW & Nasdaq are trading at all time highs. This seems out of sync with the 'real' world to me.
Surely any 'correction' would have a huge effect on us in UK. ??

Perhaps the VWAP tool is better for trading intra day or so time scales. So you can better judge if the currant price is above/below the 'average' .
Shame i can't justify £500+ a year for L2.....

Sold out here yesterday @ 304.10
Same with Lgen @ 239.60

Had a feeling they might drop more than the dividend today.....
