The options look excessive at first glance but vest over five years, also subject to a three year qualifying period to exclude windfall gains from share spikes.

This bit is also interesting as it may tie AV. in more closely with its peers?

I'm sorry but a 6p interim dividend just doesn't cut it due to the significant final being cancelled. And then there is is uncertainty of whether they will make up for this with a special dividend to make up for the cancelled final payment, and then potentially lower up coming dividends payments to pay for insider bonuses and share options and purchase of assets. whilst this is going on almost all other companies in the sector are coming good for their investors on missed dividend payments due to the virus. There is just no incentive to invest in this company on the latest announcements from the latest CEO as the latest share price shows even with an upcoming exdiv. Can we get Tulloch back please ?

when you look at valuation of Direct Line - which is back to pre-Covid highs i am perplexed why Aviva is so lowly rated. Today's pigs in the trough announcement doesn't help but why are we so cheap here - ms Blanc can make a stack of money if she manages to get the price in line with other insurers....

I've held both these and LGEN for about the period of the chart.

One is +130% and one isn't.

..and unwarranted risk taking - the problem is that AV. needs some more risk taking!!!!

cyber - my comment is that too many punters were only ever here because they thought this is going to return to a 10% dividend - the slow realisation that this is not going to happen would almost certainly see the back of some of those punters and good riddance to them - this will probably settle at around a 5% dividend with some capital appreciation as high interest debt is rotated out for lower interest debt (and higher profitability) because new bond holders can see that such capital is not going to be frittered away on unsustainable dividend payments.

I would be ecstatic with a 5%yield from an A rated stock on a profit growth trajectory

Spud... I agree that it was part of her agreed package and have calmed down a bit now...eurofox...agree with 1robbob and not too sure where you are going with that comment. The dividend position is reasonably clear for the year and something to increase into next year as hopefully when the virus issues are better understood/controlled. We are selling at almost half the value of LGEN and can easily regain ground on them in due course. I have again added even ahead of Fridays XD as feel that they will sail ahead of that with forthcoming divestment of some selected overseas assets.

Doesn’t make it anymore palatable spud . Bonuses encourage short term planning and unwarranted risk taking .

eurofox...I am intrigued!!

>>I suspect quite a few retail punters are backing out now on the realisation of where >>dividends are going to settle.

I wonder where they think that might be? It would seem to me that even the most conservative Dividend expectations put the shares on a very good yield.

Never popular with shareholders but AV has by no means the monopoly on trough snuffling. I suspect this was baked into the Blanc contact before her appointment. Mr Amin was probably just jumping on her gravy train. spud

They probably don't want small retail shareholders - too much hassle.... you will all burn yourselves out with venom if you go on lamenting what might have been. I have just moved on and feel a good bit better for it.

I wonder if I offered to buy some shares at 229p direct from AV. if they would? LOL

at least I would be buying them, also as she is a very recent appointment why the f--k should she have her bonus back dated, does AV. never learn how to treat small shareholders like us ffs no wonder the share price is pants.

Option given at 229p 23/3 share price I agree is quite lamentable...I personally find it difficult to accept at corporate governess for future conduct. The CEO had better get things moving fast and start to make better decisions than accepting these options so in the money it is laughable. I feel quite furious and let down by her acceptance...I need to calm down a bit and see what she does next...she had better be more focused on the company and not herself and her fellow Director.

What a surprise management giving themselves more money .
Bonuses like this only increase risk taking/short termisem At the expense of you and me .
They will have nothing to lose .

Admiral will have to book a £110 million hit against £25 rebates to motor insurers . Anybody remember ? No ? And nor will recipients of rebates when it comes to reinsureing .
The only wise decision from Tulloch , Not to give rebates .
Better of offering discounts on future policys
