Sorry meant T+2 but essentially you have to own it Wednesday people often still think they can buy it Thursday and get the divi that’s all I’m saying skinny but lol.

The problem with those comparison charts (4002) is rebasing, for example if you take PRU on Aug 2010 it was 6.00 rather than 4.00 suggested by graph (although AV. was around 4.00)

Ex-Dividend Date: Thursday August 13 2020
If you held the share day before the x-date then sell them the x-dividend date, you still receive the dividend.

The shares will be trading 'ex dividend' from the opening on Thursday 13th (Tomorrow).
That means if you buy on Thursday you will NOT be entitled to the dividend..hence ex(cluding) dividend
Absolutely nothing to do with T20

I thought you had to hold on Wednesday to get the divi and if you bought on Thursday you wouldn’t get it something to do with T20 I think could be wrong.

Good result from ADM today what a difference in the ethos in comparison to Aviva we should just give the insurance side to Admiral to run for us they will do a much better job.

The new CEO is saying that the company requires to unlock shareholder value and this is imperative does this mean at last the company is up for sale as imperative has no timeline in Aviva speak ,its used to fob of investors every time they cut the dividend there is far to many overpaid employees getting fat while shareholder returns are non existent.

Tell me again why I am holding Aviva and not Admiral! They are splashing money around to shareholders like waves on a windy day on the rocks.

Nice graph skinny - as always shows the TP being adjusted following the changes in the share price

Does anyone know if there is an insurance thread here rather than just company threads? I benefit greatly from views on here but some of them are just as applicable to a number of ins stocks in invested in. Rather than clog this up would it make sense to have a more diverse ins thread?

Apologies...1robbob from the company web site you are 100% correct...there was a little ambiguity when announced on 6th August, about record date etc. but XD on Thursday with payment date 24th September. Not sure why WS collapsed over 400 points late in the day, so quite a turmoil in the share price over the next few days perhaps.

Sorry...we go XD at the opening this FRIDAY 14th (read the company announcement)...you have all day Thursday until the close to secure your 6p Dividend if that is what you want. The market may adjust for the 6p dividend at the Friday opening by falling that amount as we all understand. WS crashed late today so we may have a weak opening tomorrow? Best wishes.

Amazing the number of people that still can't grasp ex dividend dates and closing auctions.
