06/8/2020 08:58 | Talked the talk now walk the walk. Aviva appeared to have developed cajones from an unexpected candidate! Le Blanc is certainly setting out the market stall for post Covid. Aviva has the strength and muscle to transform the playing area. If words are seen to be being translated into positive moves the perhaps this lioness could disrupt the pack.....interesting | luzley
06/8/2020 08:57 | Does a second interim dividend not imply they are moving to quarterly payments? with three interims and a final dividend, suggesting a total annual of 24p going forward. | 2wild
06/8/2020 08:54 | ... This would put AV on course for 4 equal quarterly dividend payments of 6p and would represent a 25% cut - which would be an exemplary return in these low interest days ... and leaves capital for investment in growing (and cost streamlining) the good parts of the business and releasing capital from poorly performing businesses. | eurofox
06/8/2020 08:54 | So here's my take Declare a dividend the shares get bought Then declare dividend will not after all be paid Then cut the dividend by approx one third And yet you have people saying it's a good job Utter cra# | jubberjim
06/8/2020 08:50 | 1nf3rn0 the divi announced is a 2nd Interim for 2019. Having already paid 9.5p first Interim. I would have thought that in the 4th quarter they will announce a Final Dividend for 2019 of 6p and a first Interim for 2020 of 6p to be paid together. This would put AV on course for 4 equal quarterly dividend payments of 6p and would represent a 25% cut | 1robbob

06/8/2020 08:33 | Well....at long last a firmhand on the wheel and what we needed. Looks like goodbye to Europe and Asia then. | ianood
06/8/2020 08:31 | .. exactly so 1nf3rn0 | eurofox
06/8/2020 08:29 | Interim divi 6p. I'd expect final divi of 12p giving 18p for full year. At a 5% yield this implies share price of 360p. At 4% yield it's 450p. Somewhere in that range should satisfy investors in this world of ultra low interest rates. NAV 473p | 1nf3rn0
06/8/2020 08:26 | Well done all long term holders. Today is a good day! | xamf
06/8/2020 08:26 | Good outcome - topping up again in the 260s was well worth it. Have not only held on to core holding throughout this, but added at lower levels. | eurofox

06/8/2020 08:19 | very well done to those who held onlooks like the worst is now behind | scepticalinvestor
06/8/2020 08:12 | Still looks cheap around the 3 pound mark - same market cap as legal and general roughly although in reality much bigger co | salver2
06/8/2020 08:11 | They are going to "review" ythe dividend and cut debt. That means lower dividend coming with the new CEO (who'd have thought it?), but they are probably going to guage the reaction of major investors before quantising... 6p is reasonable right now for the interim, but they are holding on to the 2019 final for now at least. More importantly, the business is chugging along OK all things considered, and the new CEO is making appropriate noises. The proof of the pudding is not going to be obvious for some time, at least she is souning better than Tulloch though (not hard). | edmundshaw
06/8/2020 08:08 | Very pleased with the results and dividend. Reaffirms investment here. | smurfy2001
06/8/2020 08:06 | What's happened to the posters that said these were going to get battered? All gone quite now.... | igoe104
06/8/2020 08:03 | No spilt of investment and insurance arms though. | dr biotech
06/8/2020 07:58 | impressed - not bad at all | scepticalinvestor
06/8/2020 07:58 | The 6p div is what i would of gone for if i was going to change the div payments to quarters. Would bring more stability than the lumpy divs at the moment. | killing_time
06/8/2020 07:57 | Positive results and dividend reinstatement 99% assured (with Interim at lower level) should please the Market imo.spud | spud
06/8/2020 07:48 | Surely that will please the market and we should see ,£3 plus now. | igoe104

06/8/2020 07:45 | Well in fairness to AB that’s the sort of no nonsense statement that we require. Was hoping for a lower COR, but results are ok given the circumstances. Some dividend better than nothing, I read it as they are going to reduce the level of payout going forward. | dr biotech |
