I doubt they will offer but they must have a plan here as Oceanwood showed the sort of discount you need to get rid of a large holding. Maybe they are lining up a buyer. Would be interesting to know if Jeff has engaged with them

Note also the footnote

.."Following the above issue of Warrants, the number of Warrants in issue to staff is 7,510,000. There are also 5,857,408 Bondholder listed warrants (under code: AVAW.L). Assuming full exercise of all staff and Bondholder warrants this equates to 15.87 % of the Company's enlarged share capital. For transparency the Company intends to merge these two classes of securities prior to the end of 2023, which will reduce the total number of warrants in issue..

Not sure why this would reduce the total warrants, but signs of a general corporate tidy-up / simplification are always welcome, IMO.

And the warrant sale by Jeff today. Notice the price has just trended up despite this ~£375k sale on the highly illiquid market for AVAP. I would hazard a guess Rangeley Capital was the buyer and Jeff providing them liquidity.

WARRANT GRANT AND DIRECTORS' DEALING

Avation PLC (LSE: AVAP), the commercial passenger aircraft leasing company advises that 485,000 share warrants have been granted to directors and other employees of the Company as set out below.

The grant of warrants is pursuant to the authorities and powers given by shareholders at the Company's last annual general meeting. The warrants have been granted subject to the Company's Remuneration Policy as long-term incentives. The warrants were granted by the board at an exercise price of 125.50 pence per share, and each warrant grant is on terms that one third of the warrants will vest at the end of each of the first three years from the date of grant but subject always to clawback under the terms of the Company's Remuneration Policy. The warrants are otherwise granted on customary terms for employee share remuneration.

So Jeffries have continued to pick up shares since their major purchase, but apparently not from Oceanwood who have not declared going below 3% (from their current 3.61%). It would be interesting to know where these shares are coming from and how far Jeffries will go. I wouldn't be surprised if we make the £1.40/£1.50 area in the next few weeks, which is still of course very cheap, but a circa 100% paper profit in short order for Jeffries initial stake.

Interesting to see the new buyer is working with Jeremy Raper , he for some strange reason holds a bunch of the same Asian names I have held and lives just round the corner from were I did in Tokyo, he seems to have a good handle on small cap value plays and special situations. Worth following raper capital on Twitter or x

I agree, but I was just commenting on yesterday's rise. It seems every time something small in the sector happens, a raft of buyers suddenly wake up and realise there's a load of underpriced aircraft leasing companies trading far below book, they wake up for a few hours but then go back to sleep.

I'm not sure how much read-across there is : surely the A380 is a very special beast, aimed at a very different sector of the market?

The new investor's investment criteria -'mispriced securities with limited fundamental downside' - are a lot more compelling, to my mind!

Very interesting indeed, so a 20% discount to buy from a closing down fund that has to sell and would in no way be able to exit that size in any reasonable timeframe without pushing the price down 50% or more, I think this will turn out to be a very savvy buy indeed, the best possible scenario is this was brokered by jeff to an industry buyer who now has a nice stake and wants to help expand the business... could turn out to be an excellent catalyst
