07/5/2024 09:20 | Yawn! Tesco shares galloping to new highs with the buyback still flat out at 100 shares a day (Citygroup - RNS). Some party to this is obviously hoovering up the slack ready to sell on to City (at a profit)? Convince me this LSE market is "kosher". | penandnen

02/5/2024 17:30 | Since the share price here has gone up and oil prices have gone down we are 'suffering' a lack of Subperior and his TRUMP2024. Hope the fellow is OK. | konradpuss
02/5/2024 09:16 | They have to keep raising the pension age because too many people havent paid in enough and too many people are poncing elsewhere on the welfare state meaning not enough money in the pie for the unfunded pension system. And every year we add 500,000 to 700,000 people (before illegals), most of whom are net recipients of welfare generally long before theyve even paid anything into the system! And who is getting screwed? Those who have "mostly" worked and paid into the system for 5 decades odd. | geckotheglorious

01/5/2024 14:39 | Yes tufty. But who can second guess the market makers? I believe there is some sort of rule on preventing them colluding, but does that stop multiple companies that are owned by a single company, eg mng, from making as share play, buy or sell? | helen troy
01/5/2024 13:35 | Yeah and for some reason Helen it seems like a long wait to get to this one. I thought 306 in the run up to the divi was possible so let's see. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt
01/5/2024 13:21 | Next x divi 8.25p in 15 days. Nice to get a penny or so a day to compensate for the x divi drop. | helen troy

01/5/2024 10:34 | TSCO Still doing well. | hazl
01/5/2024 09:49 | Hazl, Disagree. State cant run a bath at the best of times and everything would cost alot more. The problem we have is there are too many people in the Uk. Infrastructure built for 50-55million. ie Water, power generation , healthcare, education. Current UK population 68-70million plus. We have too many poncers consuming who've never paid anything in so investment in infrastructure hasnt occurred. No new reservoirs for 30 years despite population increasing by 11 million in that time. All of whom drink water, wash, clean, etc etc. | geckotheglorious
01/5/2024 09:30 | I think there are things that are very basic such as water, education, healthcare and defence, that absolutely ought to be state run. Profit really oughtn't to be part of that concept ....to my mind it is what governments were first brought in to do. Yale University had some good videos on that....don't know if they're still available. We provide money in the form of taxes to keep those standards up. Again with transport, you can measure the happiness and progress in a country by such things. Apparently in Switzerland trains run on time , stations are kept clean. It has a way of uplifting society. Of course there is a requirement or measure of how wealthy a country is, in what it can do, but I come to the conclusion that there is a certain amount of corruption these days in the top layer! Mates rates? IMO | hazl |
