It would be interesting if Tesco reported a sub-set of numbers showing their turnover, profits etc. adjusted for inflation.

Perhaps Mr.Market did this today.

The drop today is close to twice what the next divi will be!!

Can't get my head around this after yesterday's rock solid figures and price reaction so will avoid looking for a bit until sanity prevails.

Good luck all 👍🏻

On a more serious level: Despite 10 years of regrets and sharing the Warren Buffett disappointment, I added to my position lunch-time. I'm not sure if it's the new medication. Maybe the weather?

Still don't forget our profits were good!

A soon as the dividend date is in sight, people will be getting back in I expect.

The Tesco in Ealing was recently refitted with a much reduced beer selection. I asked why and they said too much was being stolen.

Security both in Sainsburys and Tescos are watching dodgy customers.
I've seen a guy in both Stores get stopped by the door trying to steal spirit.
One security guy in Sainsburys was struggling to hold one guy, until his gorilla security partner helped out. The guy stealing was then no problem.

Indeed macro drives things.
I lean towards una's position, however.
People need food, dividends are welcome and things never remain the same for long.
I would rther have the fundamentals of the company being sound, the share price will sort itself out in the end.

Not so much to do with Tesco as general sentiment tackling the likelihood that US rates are likely to remain at high levels for longer than previously speculated.

Interest rates staying higher for longer seems to be the story at the moment.

It is illogical today that the share price is down 4.65%, yet there is only fewer sells that there is buys today, but that is the way it goes sometimes.

Una - interesting article - thanks

People get conditioned to shopping at the same Supermarket in many cases,
and some don't even notice the difference in pricing between supermarket options.

I have worked in retail - it is the job of management to earn (rip customers off)
where they can. Sainsburys were charging £8 for 72 Weetabix when others were charging £6.50 at one time. If in Tescos you buy 3 packs of 24 Weetabix you could be paying £10.50. The customer needs to have their head screwed on price wise to avoid being legally over charged, and this is in all Supermarkets.

This won't help:
"EU food imports such as fish, salami or cheese coming into the UK will be susceptible to fees of up to £145 ($182) starting April 30, more than four years after Brexit. Allianz said these border controls will impact £21 billion worth of agricultural imports, or about 3% of all UK imports".

Drop today may have levelled out - buying opportunity ?
It nearly always happens that the share price does not follow logic at time.
You could say that it is easier to lose money by bad timing than to gain profit.
