Within the last year only the following have had a declarable trading interest in Trio reported by RNS. Figures are last reported holding and %.

THE LINK ASSET AND SECURITIES CO LTD 2500000 2.99%
Link have sold 900,000 or 1.14% since 23rd June 03 to todate in 5 trades.

MR N D A LEVENE 9500000 11.38%

D.L. Hagan 8778400 10.52%

MR T.E. BROWN 2510000 3.00%

The two trades of 3300000 on Friday both qualify to be reported with RNS so as Awilson states in his post, we should have info next week..

The 2 trades are more likely to be the regular rollover someone is doing, though his broker seems to be increasing his margins a bit!

The two deals late on Friday together represent 8% of the TRN equity, assuming they are cumulative, and are declarable interests under SE rules.
So with luck, we may hear something positive early this week.

drago, I only referred to one as example, I have other shares still sleeping. Feel very much a sector related market at present time with some still not in favour. Hoping to see the sleeping sectors, ie engineering and aerospace etc catch up with the general market. Not popular with press so very little information around. Like Trio, think some are good for a strong move as results start to come out. Time will tell.

mmm, but 3m this time? where did the extra 1m suddenly come from? Did he have 1m more that he hadn't paid for?

Dunno how these things work, probably better sticking to profits, cash, market values and fundamentals rather than speculating about other holders' actions/intentions.

Year end been and gone, just have to wait for the results

Monty Burns, looks like Mr Rollover has done it again. Whoever is doing must be confident as I posted before.

Monty Burns, we all have a share we have held expecting it to fly. Mines Hampson that I think will be as good a long termer as Trio once it moves but not in a popular sector, engineering. Now I just look more to longer future and shares that will also pay a divi as they increase in value. Sure Trio won't disappoint any of us. About six weeks before final results so may see a few more buyers starting to come in.

Isn't Mr 2m+ T20 Rollover due to do his thing about now?

Bought another 50k last week at 23 and 25k this week at just over 23 - basically the same ones I sold for 26.5 in early September. Now around 340k of these.

Just wish they would get to where they're going (35p+ :-) ) a little quicker. Painful having all this money tied up in a share going down when other stuff is flying. Never mind, patience is a virtue, I'm told. Hopefully they're now on their way up.

Sorry, nothing useful worth posting...........

Yes, the talk of 'sector consolidation' has been in the chairman's report for the last couple of years. So far though, he doesn't seem to have been able to attract anyone out of their lair. Maybe he should wave his arms about a bit more!

Xena, nice to see you post. I too am confident of what the results will be. Never easy to sit still as share price falls back unless you believe in the basic strength of your investment. The investment and reorgaisation that was carried out last year should be reflected in a positive uplift in profits and we IMHO, will have something to celebrate in better than expected results. At todays price a div will be extra good value. If the results are as I suggest, a take over may not be out of the question as we know at least one big player has been looking to expand.

Trios results last year were out on 2nd December - so only about 7 weeks to wait for this years results. At the interims in May management reported cautious optimism going forward, and as we have gone past the year end with no announcement of a change, then I too am looking forward to a set of solid results.

The fact that Man and ICAP seem also to be doing well should give an indication of how Trios business is doing generally, although of course Trio is much smaller.

Interestingly Trio is still within its 3 year uptrend lines, although presently quite close to the bottom. The bottom line of the uptrend and the present share price will intersect around early December, so from a charting point of view we will either see a breakdown through the trend line, or a bounce off it as has happened on each occasion over the last 3 years when a breakdown was threatened.

I know which alternative my money is on!!!!

GerdMiuller, Re little news, this is a major problem with most smaller companies. While they may be going forward nicely there is no new exciting action that requires a RNS or other announcement so silence and uncertainty worries some investors. It is this very situation that leads to the spectacular rises that come with some smaller companies when they publish extra good figures above expectations. The FT100 companies have announcements almost daily so not too many major surprises. I guess we just have to have faith in the reason we bought in originally and hope we were and still are right. Lets hope we are in for a big surprise later.
