27/5/2003 13:47 | Thanks Cinoib. Damn, only just noticed that - have already spent the 270,000 x 0.5p! Looking at the candlestick chart, they did touch 25p for a nanosecond in January, which I imagine was 24.5p to sell - currently 23.0 plus total divis since Jan of 1.0p, but the 24.5 was only available for a few minutes from memory. Oh well, at least the rise isn't hot money chasing divis - at just over 1%, it isn't worth it. | monty burns
27/5/2003 13:35 | Monty Burns, Just to correct you. The divi is a 1/4p not a 1/2. | cinoib
27/5/2003 11:32 | Bit of a crunch point here - fair few sells, can't recall it staying at 23+ to sell for long, but some large (ish) buys at 23.5 keep appearing. Given the 0.5p interim divi (now ex-divi) and previous 0.75p for end of last year, the current price is actually an all time high for those who have held for 6 months or more (and therefore received the divis.) That makes it tempting to sell, but I'm sitting tight. Already missed a takeover (DEB) through selling a winner too early, worth the risk of holding I think. | monty burns
27/5/2003 08:51 | Thanks Davron. Willco. | farsight
25/5/2003 18:27 | Farsight, not seen you around recently, last posting of yours I saw was re L Gardner suggesting they might be a good bet, I had a look and a quick £2000-00, thought it mught be another Firth Rixon, big winner, then like others saw Gardner disappear into nothing. It happens sometimes when gambling for a big poss return. Luck does change and others have since come good. Try looking at SBE, I'm in ( over a year )with a biggish holding and they are begining to look very good, slow rises over past few weeks, about 50% and should continue. DYOR of course. | davron8
24/5/2003 14:18 | Taco, LOL, but just once in a year the IC may be right, don't think now is the time to bail out. | davron8
24/5/2003 12:57 | That will explain it, but if the IC are tipping, that means it is time to get out. | tacobumpy
23/5/2003 19:07 | simon thompson (ic) made some bullish comments in ic today about the possibility of the company being taken over he highlighted the same paragraph in the results as i highlighted on the day of the results before anyone makes any assumption s,my real name is not simon thompson nor do i know him there is major support now for the company's share price around the 19/20p mark i bet he has read this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | ntv
23/5/2003 18:55 | Taco, prob a few people feel as some posters on this thread do, that the price is low and a fairer price is nearer to 30p in the longer term with small risk. It does appear that a sound base is building up and further rises will follow. IMHO and holding. | davron8
23/5/2003 14:41 | No news, a lot of apparent buying going through, brokers desperate for stock (I was just quoted .1p under the mid-price to sell), the price shooting up. Any body any ideas? | tacobumpy
23/5/2003 11:56 | ydderF. Guess your LOL is with pleasure as the price rises again. No one could be a clone of Clerman surely. | davron8
22/5/2003 21:26 | Stop laughing beryl, you are beginning to sound like a Clerman clone. Phil | the jitters
19/5/2003 18:01 | A good test for Trio today, Most Footsie shares down and Trio have a small rise | davron8
16/5/2003 18:54 | Monty..moreover hardly the actions of a man who believes there are probs at the business..the opposite i'd say. | badtime
16/5/2003 18:39 | Monty, Thanks for correcting my error. A pretty impressive CV except for the bit about Leyton Orient. Lets hope he continues producing good figures for us. | davron8
16/5/2003 17:39 | Nick Levene isn't the Chairman (that's David Hagan who also owns 10%+ and bought after the results. Levene used to run (not sure if he still does, but others on the thread probably do) one of the trading subsids. Further up the thread someone posted a link, the output of which is : Nicholas has worked in the Equity and Equity Derivative markets for twenty years. His experience in the specialist arena of sophisticated derivative products has been exclusively amongst the wholesale market participants including the world's largest commercial and investment banks. With Investory he capitalises on this extensive technical knowledge and his many relationships with the senior personnel of the key banks and investment houses. Early in his career, Nicholas joined Tullett and Tokyo Futures broking in the inter-professional futures and option markets, starting their floor presence on the old Stock Exhange before their move to the London International Financial Futures Exchange ("LIFFE"). In 1991 he set up and ran the first OTC desk for Tulletts. In 1993 he was headhunted as Managing Director to set up and run Trio Equity Derivatives Ltd (a fully owned subsidiary of Trio Holdings plc.) who consistently produced the best margins and profitability of all the many global operating subsidiaries of Trio and in its past year with Nicholas achieved brokerage commissions of £5 million. Nicholas has also been Vice Chairman of Leyton Orient Football Club since 1995. So I dunno. Maybe he owns so many already he doesn't want the price down so is buying to keep the price up. Or maybe he thinks a takeover looms and wants the upside, or even voting rights. Or, fwiw, Hagan, Levene and the Japanese lot (30%) now own over 50% between them. Anyway, holding 270k of them indefinitely for now. | monty burns
16/5/2003 16:49 | Taco, you read the fall very well. Must have been accumulating for the 500,000 buy. It's nice to see the chairman buying at this price, he obviously does not expect any big fall. | davron8
16/5/2003 16:22 | Davron So, there was some accumulating going on I guess. Now that is out of the way and the weak holders are hopefully taken out, let's see this one break its high. | tacobumpy
16/5/2003 14:22 | Chairman buys 500k, ups stake to 10%. | steadyeddy
16/5/2003 11:56 | I think we are seeing the results of people re reading the results. While the bottom line was much lower the promises for the future could be seen between the lines. As I posted previously, I'm holding as I think we will be in a very comfortable situation in the future. Today's rise of .75p happened with only 25000 shares bought, about £5000 worth. MM's may not have a lot of stock. Market still has some volitility but IMHO will not see big falls here | davron8
16/5/2003 11:40 | Oi Drago, don't be a dipstick all your life :-); I wish I could get in at 18p -I may have missed the boat. | delboy002
16/5/2003 11:25 | back over 20p now. is there something going on? is the market looking forward to better times for trio? if delboy can't get back in at 18p , would that make him a plonker? | drago
16/5/2003 00:15 | davron, dont forget the very high, one of, tax charge for last year, this won't happen again. will be taken out IMHO in the mean time theres a 5% divi with the possibility of cash back , share buy back etc to kickstart the rerating | drago |
