18/2/2003 13:16 | rollovers thats all...............to I sold at 22.5p on the chart double top and am looking for a possible re-entry point. 18/19 looks about right from the chart. Phil | the jitters
18/2/2003 13:14 | as above - rollover. Somebody sold and bought the same 100k shares without paying for them. They rolled over their position. Happy to ignore. It will go a lot higher. I don't know when and I don't really care. They're in my ISA (in practice my pension fund for 20+ years' time) and there's not a lot else out there that I would want to be in. So holding them (200k) indefinitely stops me having a problem of where to put the cash if I sold. Nice tax free divis plus strong capital growth. That's what investing is for isn't it? | monty burns
17/2/2003 17:43 | nice couple of 100k clips bought this afternoon........ent | cwa1
16/2/2003 17:06 | The Sunday Business today quotes Roger Bootle at Capital Economics predicting interest rates at 3% by the end of the year. Assuming cuts of 1/4% each time we should get a boost to Trio every 2-3 months for the rest of the year. | xenawarriorprincess
16/2/2003 10:36 | I say they should save the cash until this bear mkt finishes or give it back to us and let us buy some gold with it. | ridgeback
14/2/2003 10:49 | And also maybe what they are going to do with all their cash. | ccullinane
14/2/2003 10:35 | AGM on Monday gents, should provide a bit more insight into current trading. | riddlerone

07/2/2003 09:34 | TRNs main line of business is money broking ie acting as the middle man between lenders & borrowers (usually short term)...the IR volatility resulting from the cut should generate extra business in this area. TRN also recently announced plans to move into IR derivatives...these are instruments used to hedge against IR volatility & arbitrage between different IRs in different countries...again an area that should benefit from IR changes. | lythamslim
07/2/2003 09:21 | What effect if any will the interest rate change announced yesterday have on TRN 's ability to profit from it? Any Views ? | alaned
07/2/2003 09:07 | TRN has great mgmt.Let them run with the ball !!!!!!!!!!!! If, at the upcoming meeting they approve a share buyback, they could take out LINK ASSET,who are sellers. That would be great!!!!!!!!! And 30p would most likely be reached quickly!!! | macduck
07/2/2003 08:35 | According to the annual report, the AGM on the 17th Feb is looking for authorisation to buy back up to 10% of their shares...not that they necessarily will. Also according to the report they were looking to beta test Trio Insight "Vantage" and "Vision" in their in-house arbitrage desk "by early in the New Year" - anyone know if this happened on schedule ? | 2020hindsight
07/2/2003 00:12 | I wonder if someone saw the interest rate cut coming and upped the price beforehand? Nah, that would be cheating............ Still not selling, not for a long way up yet. | monty burns
06/2/2003 23:32 | Hi all - been lurking since picking up some of these last year. One of the big questions to me, is what to do with the cash. After the Office move last year and the purchase of all the up to date dealing systems etc, I can't see much need for any significant capex in the short to medium term. I have seen a couple of posters speculate a while ago about a possible acquisition, but I don't think that this should be considered for the sake of using the cash because it is there. If something was available at a good price and that would be earnings enhancing then fair enough, but in the absence of this is it best use of the cash to leave it laying in the bank? If the Director's feel that the Company is undervalued perhaps some of this should be used to buy back shares. Anyone got any views........... | tanners
06/2/2003 22:13 | Any interest rate change is good news for TRIO | master rsi
06/2/2003 16:35 | Don't worry about the interest on the cash pile. This company is in the investment business and will find a good place to invest. Share price is acting very well in a down market! | macduck
06/2/2003 14:23 | Less interest on Trio's cash pile, now that interest rate has come down!!!! | delboy002
06/2/2003 11:20 | As you say Trio loves turbulence One of the best buys there at the moment. Likely to go to 30p quite soon and then who knows. I would love to see 50p and I can wait for that. No intention of selling this little winner | saturn5
05/2/2003 23:35 | I agree ridge, kicking saddam is just gonna close one chapter and open another half a dozen! Good news for Trio though, as they profit from volatile markets ;o)))) Phil | the jitters
03/2/2003 17:26 | charts looking good with rising lows should see 30p soon. all imo | huntgs |
