Oi Muckduck for your info I still hold and have held since 12.5p. When did you buy? If you dont like to see the other side you shouldnt buy shares or you can beleive what you hear on CNBC.

What track are US & UK on then?

BTW why mention being Canadian as if it somehow means something.

When did Canadians have an independent opinion? Is Canada not the 51st state?

It is worrying when a Canadian expresses an opinion!!!

Take your wares and push them somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!

I am CANADIAN and I believe that the US&UK are on the right tract!

As far as TRN is concerned, investors should stay with these shares.

As I said daniel, I don't think there's a precedent for that pattern of behaviour, logical though it may seem.

At the moment the plunging Ftse is being put down to uncertainty with Iraq and war

If the war should actually kick off then i think it would be fair to expect another initial drop even if only for a little while

after all war will happen thats a fact!

the problem is it will divide european nations such as france and germany who are very anti war which will have a knock on effect and could send share prices into a brief phase of turmoil.

at the end of the day britain, americas and europes economy are all interlinked its bound to cause grief

Read the book Bible Code 2 - Michael Drosnin has proved uncannily accurate in his predictions - and two of his many predictions are:

1) The economic down turn akin to the 1920s will commence in 2002

2) The beginning of the end of the world will be in 2006 when three people will be reigning - Bush, Arafat and Sharon.

When is the next flight out to Monte Carlo?

Is there really any reason to expect a crash after the initial strike? As far as I know there's no precedent for the markets behaving in such a fashion.

there are positives in all negatives if you are willing to look

Iraq for example once they get this war over and done with as quickly as possible we can expect a jump in the FTSE once the subject of iraq is out of the way things should get a hell of a lot better.

i have been considering a strategy which is as follows

assuming that we get a few days advance warning of the initial strike on iraq sell all shares/all holdings and so you are cleaned out entirely

Then when the initial strike hits you will have plenty of money to take advantage of a crash in the market and get all those little gems you have been following on the cheap

in an ideal world the war would last a couple of weeks after which you can expect youre now brand new portfolio to shoot up in value

just an idea of course any comments or criticisms are welcome
