The business is all but debt free with around £60m on balance sheet! If this was a takeover it would be a bargain purchase, so can’t see any reason to wait. The oil and gas might be down, but the renewables are picking up as a market much faster in the medium outlook.
That's a good point on the AGM. Their last release to the market was on Aug 3. Difficult to see how their view on the business could have changed materially since then, so fingers crossed for a reassuring statement (if any). If and when a takeover offer comes, my guess on the suitor would be Subsea 7.
Hello Tom, I very much agree with you.The CEO departure at some stage was inevitable, he started it as entrepreneur and has now passed to the Chairman with more experience. The renewables offshore market is going up from my notes >30% per year, and this business remains broadly debt free trending at less than 5X.Balance sheet alone has above 60£m! Takeover??? Big oil player wants in on more renewable activity???
ADVFN is a bit like the wild west - it's full of people who make unfounded assertions, claims to special insights, etc. So when you claim first-hand experience, etc. you are following well-trodden paths. And since you're hiding behind a moniker, you already have anonymity. Let's put it another way, though. The shares trade on an historic diluted PER of 28x, which is not a bad rating for a company with an incompetent CEO! If they attract a person of the right calibre how would you expect them to be re-rated? And, given Richie's shareholding isn't large, how have the prospects for takeover changed, if at all? You ought to be able to give some reasoned answers to those two points.
Yes, that's a surprise. And I don't know whether it makes my hoped-for takeover more or less likely! Lower eps due to high tax credit last year, now used up I guess. In line with forecast otherwise. As you say, a lot to wade through - too many adjusted figures for my liking.
