29/5/2020 07:27 | Problem with waiting for an equity raise is you can be left behind - standing at the station and the train has moved on. Look at IWG yesterday. What wider equity markets do also has a bearing obvs. | essentialinvestor
29/5/2020 05:26 | I wonder if it is a ploy to buy the stake to then swap the stake for the property holdings Shaftesbury own in Covent Garden. Most are in a J.V. with the Mercers. I know I am down on the Shaftesbury management, however I doubt they would do that deal. They are just self-serving and would think if the portfolio shrinks their salaries and benefits might then look even more outrageous. Still not back in and waiting for an update from the company and a possible rights issue. | konradpuss
28/5/2020 22:58 | Just read. | essentialinvestor
28/5/2020 20:47 | So it's Cap. Co negotiating to buy Sammy's stake. I guess their timing on the Earls Court sale now looks as good as Hammerson's rejection of the bid from the French a while back looks bad. Sammy must be very bearish or geared or both. | konradpuss
25/5/2020 19:55 | So all retail can open from 15/6 (if virus decline stays on course)but without public transport for leisure use let alone tourists coming to London in first place how many of SHB tenants are going to open? | nickrl
25/5/2020 14:03 | Essential, I guess you are right. They only have 25% of the J.V. with The Crown which owns a large chunk of Regent Street. I think they are saying we have cash but no management. They could leave the incumbent self serving management of Shaftesbury in place. I still think if Sammy is being squeezed then something will happen in respect of a bid. I am not back in yet mind. | konradpuss
25/5/2020 13:32 | Would require a bid?, and they take stakes rather than buy outright?. | essentialinvestor
25/5/2020 12:44 | Could the Norway Wealth Fund be a buyer of Sammy's stake? I seem to remember reading that their percentage ownership of Shaftesbury is the highest they have of any listed security. If the story about Sammy is true he must be being squeezed. By the the way the Pelorus was listed for sale a year or so back. He has another new 'gin palace'. | konradpuss
23/5/2020 19:23 | Pelorus has had a few owners. Every time it changes hands it appears it is worth a lot less. Think tens of millions of dollars. A mobile, floating, depreciating liability - I would like to say asset. It looks very nice mind. Once owned by Roman A. John Terry used it for his honeymoon. Now not many people know that. | konradpuss
22/5/2020 18:28 | I wonder if Sammy has 'listed' Pelorus? He will soon also be hurting from the Langham Estate. North of Oxford Street is 'boom and bust' territory. | konradpuss
22/5/2020 12:25 | Oh dear! Sammmy is smart so that is very bad news if true. I wonder if he is geared up to the hilt? | konradpuss
22/5/2020 11:16 | Betaville (via react news) are running a story that Lee is trying to offload his 26.5% stake. Might explain the recent weakness! Thoughts welcome. | loafofbread
20/5/2020 19:49 | Oh! the read across. Did not move Mountview much, | konradpuss
20/5/2020 19:38 | * Great Portland FY today. | essentialinvestor
20/5/2020 19:19 | Bit of a dip today. No RNS. I wonder if there is a leak about a rights issue? | konradpuss
19/5/2020 07:28 | The yacht is called Pelorus. Good luck! | konradpuss
19/5/2020 07:09 | Kondra - what's the name of the yacht? We can track it, maybe it's in UK or close to another forum member. If it's here, happy to paddle-up & ask :) | mtsblogs
18/5/2020 21:07 | You pay a high price for a cherry consensus! Now who said that? Essential, I agree, however I would like a little clarify in respect of a dilutive rights issue or not first. | konradpuss
18/5/2020 20:45 | The outlook is dire atm as per the share price level. You can wait until everything looks rosy, however SHB may be trading significantly higher up in that eventuality. | essentialinvestor
18/5/2020 19:18 | I know a man who knows him. My view is he is self-isolating on his yacht and has turned off his screen as he does not like what he sees. | konradpuss
18/5/2020 16:28 | I'm not a chef to worry about his breakfast, but asking him if he anticipates a dilution is a good start. Wikipedia says he has a colourful personal life, not sure how one interprets (or has!) that. Thinking about sending a letter to his sols in London but they'll probably advise him to ignore me! - definitely need a direct route. | mtsblogs |
