Posted at 29/12/2023 14:16 by konradpuss Essential, I wonder if you saw that Sammy Lee is currently selling a third of the Langham Estate. The price mentioned was circa £500 million.O.K. he purchased the whole estate thirty odd years ago for £75 million. It does have some retail however the majority is office! He has spent as little as he could over the years so investment is now required. As they say, watch what folk do, not what they say. |
Posted at 01/3/2023 13:52 by essentialinvestor CapCo now trading at a 1% premium to the conversion price - based on theSHB share price at the time of this post. |
Posted at 08/12/2022 16:29 by essentialinvestor At the time of this post the SHB share price premium on the merger terms is gone.First time since the deal announcement. |
Posted at 14/10/2022 20:10 by essentialinvestor Konrad, given your price target is about 10% away and the SHB price atthe time you gave that view - that's pretty much a hit. Well done. |
Posted at 23/9/2022 21:16 by nickrl Thats a good point on $/£ advantage for increasing tourism and spending in the capital. Never know whether you go for SHB or CAPC before the merger? |
Posted at 22/9/2022 20:00 by konradpuss Essential, you asked me what I thought of prospects as I was previously very bearish.Well I think I predicted way back a two quid share price. I am currently wrong. I have not looked much at the merger and the combined group balance sheet, however I am still very bearish. I still think Sammy did the wise thing and baled out with an enormous loss. |
Posted at 09/8/2022 13:19 by essentialinvestor The share price has taken an age to closely reflect the merger terms - 3.356 Capco shares for every SHB share held, the SHB "premium" has slowly been whittled away.On the Capco price there is currently an approx a 1% premium remaining. |

Posted at 19/1/2022 11:21 by essentialinvestor * Beginning of the end for the pandemic, hopefully!.Capco trading statement. Some of the low ball predictions for the SHB share price now look very wide of the mark, barring some other adverse development with covid. As mentioned at the time, Capco's timing here may look very good longer term. Covid though remains the big outlier, only fair to say. If we are on a path to a less virulent virus, as with the omicron variant, it would be hugely supportive and the reverse applies. |
Posted at 11/6/2020 15:58 by nickrl Essential in terms of an opportunity to get hold a big stake quickly have to concur with your view although CAPCO will see no return on that for at least 12-18mths. Furthermore they've put a prop under SHB share price with there intentions now pretty clear they want a merger or a takeover and im pretty sure they would get the funding as well given how many other plc are getting hefty raisings' away without issue currently. As you say plenty of dosh in the system looking for home not because its makes money but earns fees for the bankers promoting them. |
