Its been overcast here all day with rain late afternoon. Warm and sticky, temperature hovered around 21c most of the day. Played tennis this morning with the ball machine, gives me a great workout, going to need it as my two friends with whom I play singles are both out injured, one of whom has fractured his collar bone so likely to be out for a couple of months.

Down -0.05% on the week and up +3.82% YTD.

Have a nice weekend gents, especially Aleman.

2/7 on the quiz. Par for the course.

I'm down -0.581% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.608%), down -0.82% on the week (FTSE100 -1.19%) but up +6.48% YTD (FTSE100 +5.45% and HIX +6.41%).

Worst falls: TATE -2.38%, SGRO -1.84% and BLND -1.80%.

Best rises: SMDS +1.08%, BT.A +0.57% and IGG +0.47%.

Tate gave up yesterday's rise and the properties were down.SMDS reflects the price of its suitor in the USA. Does IGG benefit from its exposure as a sponsor of the test?

Cut the grass this morning, very hot. I went for a pub lunch with friends and supped two cans of Guiness 0-0 which went down very well.

Back to the cricket. No fish & Chips today.

Portfolio -0.72% just MKS, TSCO and SBRY in the blue ,the other twenty five red.

-0.65% for the week , making +4.97% YTD

Dr B , well done with that number.

Scorchio today 31C , much too warm for me. Two loads of washing all done within a few hours . Long snooze in a cool darkened bedroom this afternoon.

Well done to the West Indies in the cricket. Golf has turned in to a bit of a lottery with the weather though. Well played Lowry.

Off to the north of the county to see two nephews in a football tournament tomorrow. Lunch out pre the matches. Hike on sunday.

Football friendlies start tomorrow QPR v Spurs.

Beef lasagne and salad tonight with a bottle of red.

Down 0.5% on the day,A lot seem to have lower than normal volumes today,no doubt it will sort it's self out,

CRL looks to have turned a corner and IPU are offering a special dividend of sorts for 10% of current holding.. summit to get my head around.

YTD is now +5.13%

Impressive YTD, Dr Bio. Well the week has ended now. Maybe if I do nothing this weekend, it can't go wrong?

-0.4% today takes the YTD to +3.6%.

Sweltering but cloud has recently covered the sun. 28.6C after 15.8C. (32.0C in the house.) Onshore breeze has Hornsea pegged back to 18C atm (Bridlington 20C) thanks to that chilly North Sea. I hope their economy is benefitting because it's been a tough year so far.

I finished down 0.45%, -0.54% on the week and +4.21% YTD.

A stunning day today and tomorrow's forecast looks to have perked up since this
morning.

Thats not a great day Aleman - but someone at Crowdstrike is probably having a worse one.

Not a great day, down 0.55% Most things down Kitw/Dotd worst faller amongst many. SUP/BGO did buck the trend.

Where's the common sense? Why did Crowdstrike not test the update on a few clients first and then send updates out in series instead of all at the same time? Surely it's better for a few smaller customers to find the glitch first rather than everyone all at the same time?

Found the garage door handle's missing screw in an unexpected place so fixed in seconds - after a few miutes. Maybe my luck is swinging back ....

Far too hot to do the second half of the lawn after again struggling through the first half's thick moss, even on a high setting. Maybe tonight, tomorrow, next week .... or just before it rains again. Yes, that will probably be tonight. :-)

Philanderer - They love a good riot in Leeds. There have now been 21 recorded since the first Corn Price Riot in 1735. That includes The Leeds Dripping Riot in 1865 which has a real Yorkshire ring to it's name I feel..

My monitor says -0.1% but I suspect I am actually up marginally. Can't be bothered to check.

Quite sunny today between high cloud and not much breeze so the garden was outperforming. 26.4C after 15.2C. Looking a bit warm for sleeping this evening and supposed to be even warmer tomorrow. It was too warm for garden jobs but I got another load of washing done.

Back from Cambrisge, very enjoyable.

I was up +0.395% on Wednesday (FTSE100 +0.276%) and up +0.481% today (FTSE100 +0.213%).

Wednesday: Best rises: BT.A +2.36%, RKT +1.89% and GSK +1.83%.

Worst falls: IGG -1.58%, BA. -1.53% and LGEN -1.48%.

Today: Best rises: TATE +2.60%, BATS +2.36% and HLN +1.64%.

Worst falls: S32 -2.13%, RIO -1.32% and BHP -1.05%.

Miners pulled me back today, but tobacco had a good day.

I am getting near an all-time high again.

Portfolio +0.77% , top winners ABF, BATS, BP, HILS, HLN, ROR, RS1, SBRY, SHEL and ULVR .... a few in the red, AZN, DPLM, RIO and SGRO.

Sunny all day 27C at best. Washing dry in under an hour.

Rory McIlroy made a complete dog's dinner of his round at Royal Troon. And that's the poorest West Indies cricket team I can remember.

Spaghetti and meatballs in a chilli tomato sauce with a bottle of merlot tonight.

Final episode of 'The Jetty' . I won't give anything away ;-)
