Good morning. Damp and greyish start.

Hays' recruitment picture is even worse than Page - looks like recessions everywhere, deteriorating and no recovery outlook. It looks dire.

BA., PHNX, PLUS, AVIVA, highest gainers.

Keeping the faith with SCLP, just Bed & ISA'd it, no profit to be realized so that was an easy decision. I have 4 other stocks that started off and still in in dealing accounts, two of them high value carrying profits plus healthy dividends so not so easy to move.

Re the future : It was a thread on much missed Motley Fool that covered this, it even encouraged me to leave detailed instructions in the event of my demise , even to posting a line or two on their forum. Am holding on to my hernia for the time being.

I finished up 0.75%.

It's stayed dry today, with some limited sun.

Talking of pollinators, I planted some Mexican Fleabane in a area of gravel and stand alone pots - which while not native - should help.

Portfolio +0.99% , blue across the board but flat for oils BP and SHEL and miner RIO.

Dry day with sunny bursts this afternoon 19C , back on with the shorts.

Sainsbury's this morning fairly quiet, hardly any offers , a couple of nectar savings.

Pollinating the tomatoes with the paintbrush seems to have worked well.

Wok night for stirfry chicken, sweet chilli and ginger sauce, noodles and crunchy veg. Bottle of merlot.

C'Mon England :-)

Looks like England can build a big lead. Just hope our football players can deliver tonight too.

Finished up about 0.65% - no value movers either way.

Horrific news from Bushey - I was born there.

MrP I think that might be Hawkbit. I have a lot in my unmown back lawn.

Cricket going well. Atkinson 7-45 on debut, Windies 121 all out.

Didn't realise how much tax we already collect from non-doms, and I'm not sure I would put that at risk by trying to squeeze more as we could lose the lot, but I suppose it does please their regular voters!

Sorry to hear about AEG Skinny, it's tough in the green energy market but hopefully the risk/reward will pay off eventually!

Love those early matches!

Aleman, not dandelions but possibly a close relative? We also have buttercups amongst the yellow flowers.

Has it been disclosed what Sinner's issue was yesterday - to me, he looked like he had a virus or similar?

Yes indeed, we had some great matches back then with lots of decent rallies. An ace back then was due to some pretty clever stuff, not just how fast you could hit it! Having said that, the match yesterday between Alcaraz & Paul was amazing. It was astonishing how hard they were hitting it and still kept the rallies going! Both of them were returning serves arriving at around 130 mph!

I loved the Connors through Borg era in particular, with the late great Dan Maskell commentating.

We saw John McEnroe walking along the walkway to the commentary box. Presumably he switched to Court 1 after the Sinner match ended? Would have loved to have bumped into him and had a chat, he was quite a character in his day!

Morning everyone.

I think it rained through the night again by the look of it.

Mr P , glad you enjoyed Wimbledon. The only time I ever went was when Rod Laver and Kenny Rosewall were playing. I was very young though :-)

My lawn has plenty of moss too.

Good morning. Our back lawn looks much like that and the bees love the clover. We have far more moss, though, and no yellow flowers at the moment. Are they dandelions? We usually have loads of tall dandelions sprout in Spring and some short ones grow between mows in Summer. We had fewer than normal in Spring and none now. It's strange without them popping up, though I'm not really a fan. Some grass verges had a lot in Spring and looked awful for a few weeks.

Don't apologise for the odd post. I must post my fair share of odd ones - perhaps more. Sometimes you end up thinking out loud on here because it's quite relaxed compared to everywhere else. That's a good thing. I'm hoping to be good for a couple of decades.

Discussed my scan result with another different GP doctor this morning (he did not understand why when my original examiner was available) so had to give him as much background as possible within time constraints. It shows a potential distorted Xiphoid (lower sternum cartilage) issue but no hernia observable. Pain is far from gone but I have felt a bit after reversing some weight gain so agreed to review in a few months. Some people get discomfort from the Xiphoid hardening and/or distorting in shape as they age. Some don't. Interestingly, I stumbled upon this question and comments about chest pain and cartilage inflammation in cyclists just now.

Windows/Doors should be finished today and then a quick clean around the house before the football later! No doubt another torturous watch!
