A poor day for me -0.7%

Mex fell on a poor update, I’ve now sold them. They never seem to hit their targets and are predicting more losses ahead. That cost about half the days loss.

3:1 to the reds could be 2 consecutive down weeks

Portfolio almost flat +£8 , thanks to NICL +7% , BP, SHEL and RIO on a small bounce. Red across the board for the rest, hopeless.

Warm , muggy day 23C.

Sainsbury's this morning fairly quiet and plenty of yellow stickers ; whole large chicken, box of diced beef, packets of stir fry veg and pate, saving over £6.

Three mile local walk this afternoon , quite tiring in this weather.

Stirfry chicken in the wok tonight with veg, noodles and oyster sauce. Bottle of merlot.

blueliner, didn't notice that, I put some GSF into my ISA only this morning so they are already in profit! Sadly the ones in MrsP's SIPP are down over 40%!

+0.1%. There have been profit warnings in small and midcaps for months and they seem to have been getting worse in recent weeks. I don't like the number we have been seeing in large caps in the last week.

A few hours of sun this morning and then a couple of showers bubbled up and it all turned grey. Again, average to maybe marginally above for us at 24.1C after 13.4C.

Skinny, good news about the "hydrogen ready" gas network!

Only watched the first episode of "The Jetty" last night but will be continuing, not just because Jenna Coleman stars in it!

Threats of making pension pots liable to inheritance tax is a big worry.

Skinny, I thought 'The Jetty' was very good.

The iplayer then threw up a BBC series from 1998 called 'The Cops' which we've just started watching, very promising. Don't know how I missed it back then.

Offline yesterday as we took the grandson out for the day, ending with a lovely meal outside a New Forest pub in warm sunshine. This foal was deciding whether to have the fish dinner!

I'm down -0.546% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.383%).

Worst falls: WDS -4.63%, SGRO -1.84% ansd SHEL -1.65%.

Best rises: LLOY +0.92%, SSE +0.68% and S32 +0.39%.

WDS report didn't go down well. Dead cat bounce for S32.

Did some gardening this mornimg, pruning buddleia and another shrub, then raking up my strimmings of the unmown patch left for the orchids. I followed philanderer's example and fell asleep after lunch, waking up at 5:15. Never mind. Feet tomorrow morning then my asthma check after lunch.

Portfolio -0.57% , yesterday's gains wiped out . Oils and miners doing the damage for me. BP and SHEL ( my two big holdings) and RIO.....MKS a decent gainer.

Some sun, some cloud , muggy 23C.

Garden tidying for most of the day . Fell asleep late afternoon.

Slow cooker tonight, beef and vegetable overload . Carrots, swede, onions, runner beans and courgettes. Potatoes and dumplings to add. Bottle of red to open :-)

Down 0.4%. Yesterday's gain given up. I've not really gone anywhere for weeks, now. Not really complaining though. Dull in investing is not really a bad thing. Sometimes excitement arrives and you wish it would go away.

The day improved as it passed, and is quite sunny now without the sun feeling hot like rare previous glimpses this summer. 23.4C after 14.9C is close to average for our garden - technically probably just marginally over. Maybe summer will actually start now the usual hottest days are behind us? :-o

Good morning. Cloudy but bright.

Just paid No.3's football subs for next year. £155, up from £100 2 years ago. It felt very mercenary. It would not let me proceed unless I filled in boxes about potential football volunteering, admin volunteering, and potential sponsorships. It tried to trick me into signing up to PayPal (untick right boxes) when I paid by card and, when demanding more details than should be necessary, went on to tell me I WAS signed up to PayPal and could still pay that way. Did they trick me into signing up to PayPal a previous year? Surely, I would have had an email from PayPal at some point? Is PayPal funding the club for this?

Mrs A does a lot of our online stuff and she does use PayPal. I'm just battling to try stop my/our life getting ever more stressfully complicated. I think it's fair to say I'm losing badly! I suspect people without kids don't realise how much increasing online hassle they generate these days. It was never like this when I had my first family of step-kids. I'm looking forward to the day my kids are older and do my online stuff for me, though do not rule out the thought that I might be deluding myself!
