29/11/2018 10:21 | ShareTalk looking for 52p by Xmas.......... But those that think the price would go up to 80p+ are dreaming in the dark......there are big shareholders and CA would be selling like mad so its all about fundementals........ The big funds will watch and wait and they will be the one's who decide the fate of HUR. | anley

29/11/2018 09:40 | Just to be clear the "sky high" comment was not mine I was quoting and referring to a post that preceded mine. I hope we are all agreed that closing institutional shorts rarely sends a stock hugely upwards, the situation tends to be "managed out" with all sorts of shenanigans in play. Best to stick to the fundamentals. | steptoes yard

29/11/2018 03:51 | I've just finished digesting the Hannam report.... and very thorough it is. Odd that the Investment Risks listed pages 58 & 59 do not include the future oil price, which I'm pretty sure would be the most relevant. Probably thought it too obvious to state, although of course it is implied in the various sensitivities. | steve73
29/11/2018 02:56 | Stock-on-Loan was 7.02% average for Oct... Down from 7.44% Average in Sept. Should get the Nov average in about a weeks time (usually on the 5th), but I'd guess the average will be over 7.5% based on the increase of the disclosed shorts, or probably over 8% at this point in time. So 160MM or so shares... Probably all covered by the CB's (which are still "in the money" at 40p). All well and good getting your loan fee paid by the 7.5% interest, but I'm looking for the share price to multi-bag until the CB's convert. JMHO.. Incidentally, good the see the Hannam report included all the CB's (and other VCP's, Options, etc) in it's share number denominator for the p/# valuations. FYI, just after the equity raise (and CB issue) last year the SoL increased from c. 5% to almost 10%. | steve73
28/11/2018 21:53 | On the shorts the 63m is only those shorts who have had to declare by virtue of being over 0.5%. Having said that there is most likely a lot more happier to not be visible with short positions under 0.5%. However do remember many of those who are short May also be long the convertibles giving them a net zero position on the Hurricane stock but getting a free 7.5% interest on the nominal value of the loan stock, all at no risk once the short is in position. Smart bugggers! So the real short position is going to be much different that 63m. | davidblack
28/11/2018 19:47 | SY, today's volume was about 13.5 million of which 7 million were shown as buys and 6.5 million shown as sells. The result was an increase in share price of 7.4%. If the majority of those sells were down to funds going short then closing the shorts would have a very significant effect because there would be 63 million to buy back and presumably a lot less selling. With respect to your comment on 'sky high', your definition is obviously much more literal than mine because I was thinking of getting us up to 70-80p level. However, the reason for my post, which wasn't meant to sound over zealous, was how can anyone close shorts of that volume without sending the share price above their sell price? My feeling is that some of the shorts may be left in place incase HUR's production and testing does not go to plan, but that would be a very big risk to take. | the guardian |
