One. Thing worth pointing out is the very faint grey text at the bottom of the note stating this is a paid peice.....by Hurricane oil....

Just my rant.......you are correct, HUR and another USD (if they ever start mining) based business GGP both are in my SIPP

Yes tax credits are as good as cash.

I have just got my accounts back from my accountant and had a reasonable good year, investment wise, last year hence a reasonably large CGT bill. Thank goodness for the carried forward tax losses from a previous bad year which has significantly reduced my bill.

Just like cash I would say, both to HUR and any predator.

A prefect example is Serica Energy, taking on producing assets to utilise large tax credits generated from previous years exploration losses.

Wow one of the most bullish broker notes I have ever seen that confirms 10 bagger opportunity plus shorts rising into a surging share price this could really fly as those shorts get squeezed.

back above the 20 SMA (first time since early Oct) confirming the change in trend following that bullish engulfing candle.. nice double bottom at 40p to shake the tree before the rise..

back to buy the dips..

indeed value for the tax losses on the books can start to come out once income stream starts

Could be very significant to a tax-paying predator.

laserdisc - Indeed. I have had arguments elsewhere on these boards about tax credits (big factor for JOG too). To my mind they're virtually cash but others, presumably not former analysts, beg to differ. I don't often mention them any more because it's not worth the fight.

Exploration costs are tax losses as well as the more obvious things.

It's a VERY important factor in valuation!

They'll have tax credits for the losses made over the years.
£500M outlay, £500M losses.

Presumably tax losses available to offset against future profits?

I have no sympathy!

Forecast to drop to force 4 at Lerwick next week but I suspect that is still too strong. There will be transient weak ridges of high pressure crossing between the depressions, however, with periods of relative calm, sufficient for the hook up.

Pro_S2009,

Agree 100%. About 75% of my portfolio is either Oil or a couple of UK companies where the vast majority of their profits are in dollars.

It has to be an excellent hedge for any short to medium term volatility that is very probably heading towards Sterling in the not to distant future.
