08/3/2024 16:40 | Nice closing auction | eurofox
08/3/2024 16:11 | I seem to have diverted conversation, back on course nice clime towards close . I expect buy back will support Av for some months to come, hopefully steady clime from now on. | whatsup32
08/3/2024 14:41 | I use the term "out there" in the "wider society" context. Moving on :) | muscletrade
08/3/2024 14:35 | Of course all these old prats have very small willies. They couldn't satisfy a woman if they tried all night. LOL | 1tcm1
08/3/2024 14:25 | Very poor judgement from Rose I'm afraid. The chairman should have stood down as well. All IMHO. | muscletrade
08/3/2024 14:21 | Need more female CEO like Blanc and Rose, they actually deliver. Shame about Rose and Farage, shouldn't have happened. | smurfy2001
08/3/2024 13:52 | I agree, Amanda Blanc is a great manager. | peart
08/3/2024 13:16 | Superwoman..... | skinny
08/3/2024 13:13 | Muscletrader. FT have article on AB joining BP . FT Comments section have very angry commenters on AB as a white woman in senior position and critical of her achievements. I guess you can't let facts get in the way of hatred of woman in leading positions . Living in UK and a western nation its surprising and pitiful position to take. I think AB is brilliant and compared to Tulloch a superman. | whatsup32
08/3/2024 12:50 | BP PLC - London-based oil major - Non-Executive Director Amanda Blanc will be appointed as a senior independent director, effective from April 25 at the conclusion of BP's annual general meeting. Blanc joined BP's board in September 2022. She has been group chief executive officer of Aviva PLC since July 2020. Company also says Senior Independent Director Paula Reynolds will retire at the AGM's conclusion, having served on the board for nine years. Non-Executive Director John Sawers will also be retiring. | muscletrade
08/3/2024 11:15 | cjac I think the 2 values are the same as the share consolidation adjustment for the cash returned. Perhaps a tiny adjustment in the maths. | 1robbob
08/3/2024 10:33 | The Times has half page on Av results, just factual stuff. AB states not interested in buying Direct Line but will be "opportunistic" The Times Tempus has half page on Legal&General with a BUY recommendation "First class income stock with an improving economic environment" | whatsup32
08/3/2024 10:31 | I don’t know why someone votes my last post down - it’s a fact that when boards give authorisation for buy backs they set certain parameters to the broker acting on their behalf. I’m quite happy AV are buying back at these levels - I was merely pointing out the process. | bhoddhisattva
08/3/2024 09:55 | lippy . My understanding is they buy a certain amount each day spread over in this case 3.5 months. Idea is to not effect share price and market. And as of today they or us got pretty good value out of it as I suspect (guessing) average buy back price c 420p?. And the dividend is increasing. It's actually is WIN WIN so far thanks to AB | whatsup32
08/3/2024 09:51 | They shouldn’t do tha5 Lilly - I agree - they should set an upper limit above which they can use the cash in better ways or simply sit on it until opportunities for better returns come along. | bhoddhisattva
08/3/2024 09:48 | at the best prices i hope as it seems that companies just buy back at any price even when they are high which to me undermines the point of getting the most value out of it.. | lippy4
08/3/2024 09:46 | To be clear, AV is my single largest holding and has been for over 4 years …. I hope to see somewhere around 650-700p by 2026/7 but the divis keep me warm, relaxed and patient in the meantime. | bhoddhisattva
08/3/2024 09:34 | ... the Programme is expected to complete by 30 June 2024 | andyble
08/3/2024 09:12 | I'm guessing 65 million shares to be bought back and of the market . It should serve as a solid foundation to share price , barring uncertainty it should be slow and steady rise to next results. Any ideas how long they gave to complete £300m buy back ? | whatsup32
08/3/2024 08:54 | Yeah it was Benjamin Graham that said that and it's so true. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt
08/3/2024 08:45 | It WAS disappointing yesterday morning’s 5% rise fizzled out to under 2%. It’s also been a long term disappointment that the share price isn’t higher. But as Graham I think said, the markets are a voting machine in the short term but a weighing machine in the long. In other words fundamentals eventually outweigh the short term sentiment. If AV continues to grow sales and profits while controlling costs over the next few years as they claim, then the intrinsic value will be recognised one day by the market. In the meantime sit tight, accept the divis for holding, get as many shares as possible inside a tax wrapper and wait … | bhoddhisattva
08/3/2024 08:33 | Today is the first day that the buy back can commence, which will keep the market on the front foot. I also expect the £2.0bn operating profit by 2026 to work through into analysts minds also the DCF impact on the share price of the higher dividend guidance. In short this feels well placed to me and listening to the webcast of yesterday it is clear that Aviva wants the message to be very bullish. | andyble
08/3/2024 08:28 | Whilst I agree the share price remains undervalued, based on these results and last 3 years of transformation, for those (like me) who are laser focused on robust companies with stable dividend returns into a tax free ISA YoY, it gives opportunity to add before Ex-divi in the new ISA. The ebb and flow of share price is not the absolute driver in this strategy, but the annual 8-10% divi payment with mid digit growth YoY is. I do not have the skill, luck or time to play the markets and my annual TF return today is already a good middle class salary level. So I am content with my personal strategy :-) GLA | tornado12 |
