07/3/2024 14:33 | Why on earth would she buy at that price, when she could have bought at £4.25 ish months ago, just doesn't add up to a realist ? | hallucinogenix
07/3/2024 14:33 | I agree and the CEO isn't buying to see a bit of share price growth on top of what we have seen as the high today. A solid divi and comfortably above 500 is what I think she considers a decent return / price target. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt
07/3/2024 14:27 | igoe104. £50,000 purchase at 474p by CEO Amanda and relative £80,000 at 468p. Shows confidence. | cyberian
07/3/2024 14:17 | Very well done to those that managed to churn near this mornings highs. | skinny
07/3/2024 14:16 | Looks like Amanda has purchased some more shares. Great vote of confidence | igoe104
07/3/2024 13:36 | The FTSE 100 firm told shareholders that group operating profits increased by 9% to £1.47 billion in 2023 compared with the previous year. The company said it plans to reach operating profits of £2 billion by 2026. | smurfy2001

07/3/2024 12:49 | @makinbucks....I don't think Jefferies will be too disappointed that the share buy back never quite reached their upwardly revised target of 350m(which I also had pencilled in ), as Aviva exceeded their guidance issued 9 months ago while Jefferies considered it might be at the low end(1.42B)due to the bad weather. Also Jefferies hoped that Aviva might increase their cash generation guidance to 1.6Bln by 2026, while Av have actually increased it to 2.0billion. So no, I don't think the Jefferies folk will be cutting their wrists today. | muscletrade
07/3/2024 12:32 | Yes £50k & £80k. | skinny
07/3/2024 12:30 | Nice to see the Blanc family buying a nice chunk of shares. | muscletrade
07/3/2024 12:29 | Odds on for negative close? Wouldn't surprise me. | uppompeii
07/3/2024 12:25 | Those speculating about a takeover price, adding the usual price comes to 600p+. 550p would not get the job done as only a 20% premium. 600p might. | justiceforthemany
07/3/2024 12:00 | Topped up a small amount at 467. Loose change from recent dividends received and quite happy with the resultant 7% yield. Am underweight with AV. Wish I had more but happy to have these through the next 5 years or so. | zimbtrader
07/3/2024 11:56 | I agree, big mergers = big ego's , big complex IT projects and lies over synergies. But strategic bolt-ons are a different matter | makinbuks
07/3/2024 11:30 | Hopefully not like the £5.6bn paid for Friends life.. I struggle to think of many financial mergers that have been a success. Plenty of disasters NatWest & ABN, just about all the building societies, Aberdeen & Standard life etc. Perhaps some smaller bolt-ons may have worked out. Give me an increased dividend. | dr biotech
07/3/2024 11:25 | looks like gravity is winning in re. the share price now. | unastubbs
07/3/2024 11:24 | 1robbob - those are very close to the numbers i'm getting. using an average repurchase price of 4.7, a present cash pool of 915m increased by 5% to 960m. fwiw i had the 24-25 dividend rising to 35.87p an increase of 7.4% on 23-24 | unastubbs
07/3/2024 11:21 | Can anyone see in the Results if they have increased the size of the total cost of the 2024 Dividends, from the £950m announced at Q3 | 1robbob
07/3/2024 11:19 | I would favour accretive acquisitions over BBs. Tin hat on...... | skinny
07/3/2024 11:14 | edmundshaw Don't want to blunt your enthusiasm, but Buyback more likely to be 2.25% of equity giving a divi rise of 7.25% | 1robbob
07/3/2024 11:14 | Looking back at the Jeffries analysis which you posted yesterday muscletrade, they must be disappointed with the £300m BB when they increased their thinking from £330m to £350m and a £50m per year increase from there. Presumably they will revise their predictions accordingly. It may signal that more acquisitions are on the way (£800m in the last 12 months) which if done right will yield more for shareholders than BB's. I was curious that Jeffries called the investment in a Lloyds Agency "capital light". I think its anything but and certainly not the same "capital light" which AB refers to in relation to the wealth and investment management arms. I also noted in the Lloyds acquisition announcement the stated intention to invest further capital, clearly that was the rationale to sell for the owners | makinbuks
07/3/2024 11:14 | Most of the gains wiped away. Once that Ex-divi happens then ouch. | tradejunkie2 |
