28/2/2024 13:30 | Why, DLG has been tanking since pre Christmas so if there is interest in AV it will come out of the blue just like it did this morning with DLG. I am finally a happy holder there again but would sooner AV.continues to move north on it's own steam. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt

25/2/2024 19:48 | "Rules are being finalised..." It's the malaise this country now has. Clearly done correctly this legislation should benefit the stock market, make the UK a better place to invest. But instead of getting Civil Servants / experts / lawyers to get on and frame the laws, we have delays , WFH poor communication between them (presumably) and a govt more likely to react to the latest news headlines. Not exclusive to the govt I suspect the next will be the same - but this one I think is hamstrung by unhelpful civil service and media trying to distract and clearly poor politicians who are not thinking solely about getting the job done. When they do get around to investing in the stock market and reversing Brown's govt debt buying maybe then we will see a rise - but that is a double edged sword as I am happy enough that there are such high yielding shares.... | fenners66
25/2/2024 18:41 | But Britain's defined benefit pension schemes, which guarantee their 10 million members a retirement income, have failed to benefit after shunning shares in favour of supposedly safe bonds to meet their pensions obligations. Rules are being finalised to allow retirement schemes to invest up to 30 per cent of assets for growth rather than income, potentially boosting returns for pensioners and the UK economy. | smurfy2001
25/2/2024 18:08 | I think its possible that we will see some rotation of funds from other markets, into the UK. Mainly because loads of other markets have either been rising for a while or have risen significantly off flatline periods. Funds are always looking for new recovery opportunities, even if they are not diving in quite yet. | yump

25/2/2024 10:32 | Three odd months ago we supposedly had 3 potential bidders for Av now deadly silence. How can 3 bidders appear then suddenly disappear. | whatsup32
25/2/2024 00:20 | yump the telegraph article more or less reached the same conclusion which I agree with and those few companies that are making the gains are generating substantial revenues and profits and this is not a repeat of the dotcom boom but could be if lots of new AI companies with no revenues and no profits start to get ridiculous valuations. | pj84
24/2/2024 20:21 | Actually having looked back, the indices behaviour before the dotcom bubble were nothing like they have been recently There was a raging bull market from 1996 to 2000 which more than doubled the Dow and the FTSE flew as well. So talk of a bubble is rubbish journalism imo. The rises are concentrated in a few stocks. The dotcom bubble was going to make fortunes for every stock because every business was going to have new opportunities from online. | yump
24/2/2024 17:27 | I'm OK with that. Great news | adelwire2
24/2/2024 14:39 | I'm wondering if AMD stock is a buy as it starts to gain traction on NVDA AI acceleration. At the end of the day NVDA can only sell so much so someone has to take the slack. | smurfy2001
