15/3/2024 09:32 | Good collection of charts, thanks! | tourist2020

15/3/2024 09:13 | Despite having an overweight position here (2.5x LNG) I’m more than happy to let this winner ride. My gut keeps telling me that this is one of the safest stock with the best future growth prospects of any large cap UK listed company, although I acknowledge that I don’t have the monopoly of being right much more than 50% of the time. I guess we’ll just have to see how this plays out. spud | spud

15/3/2024 09:10 | Av rising does pose welcomed problems. As it pays tons in div we get income taxed 25% at source then probably another 20% if you move into High tax bracket . Plus you are liable to capital gains tax if you sell your shares. I am sick and tired of taxes. Business rates for commercial property for which you receive nothing in return. Residents rates for your home Income tax Capital tax Road tax for parking on the street Residents parking tax for parking on yhe same spot . You get taxed twice Petrol tax 70%+ Sales tax 20% I'm sure I missed a few . Inheritance tax | whatsup32
15/3/2024 09:00 | I think most of us are looking for total return - your welcome to Legal and Generals extra 2 percent but I don’t understand why you would move your money from Aviva - it’s just a 50 - 50 call and you incur trading expenses- a pointless gamble | salver2
15/3/2024 08:24 | Appreciating L&G are yielding 8.5% ish and Av 6.5% ish, But that's all due to Av rising in value , you are still getting the same amount in dividends as you were when share price was £4 . Only difference is we now have £1 capital appreciation. Where as L&G doesn't I see only positive here with £5 a breath away | whatsup32
14/3/2024 23:14 | Buybacks only benefit the seller, never the holder. Maximising dividend income is what most of us are here for so if I was sitting on a 25k paper profit with Aviva, I would have no qualms cashing in and moving it into LGEN. | fatherjack3
14/3/2024 21:57 | EVeryone seems to be enjoying wave 3. | yf23_1
14/3/2024 21:54 | I am delighted to see this sponsorship. High profiling Aviva in one of their key markets and associating them with success in Irish sport. In my work life I both bought and sold sponsorship packages. This is a goodie for Aviva. | lord gnome
14/3/2024 21:35 | Good for you, I wonder though if they will be even more on the ball and do a cost/benefit analysis of whether or not to answer your question.. | fenners66
14/3/2024 20:13 | I question their sponsorship of the Aviva stadium in Dublin. How much is this costing them? I have asked for a cost/benefit analysis. | mountpleasant
14/3/2024 19:31 | Rongetsrich Yes a first You can't make investment decisions on takeover hunches!! But the higher the price goes the less likely that there will be a bid | 1robbob
14/3/2024 19:25 | salver2 'Then" is then and now is now 'worries' no, prioritises and certainly not 'everyone' Dividend income is vital to those of us who rely on the income to finance ourselves ...and that is a realistic Investment strategy I have never held LGEN and like you loaded up on AV to the extent that it is 85% of my portfolio I would add that LGEN has never cut their dividend whereas AV has a history of doing so. | 1robbob
14/3/2024 19:07 | 20million shares traded….anothe | whatsup32
14/3/2024 18:53 | That's a first 1rob, you saying that you're considering life without AV! Do you not think the rumours have more to play out?I know it's silent rumours, but interesting to know you are contemplating selling! | rongetsrich
14/3/2024 18:17 | Already in the process of shifting the balance - but slowly | eurofox
14/3/2024 18:10 | I am getting itchy fingers The current difference in prospective yield Between AV and LGEN is 1.25% Perhaps at nearer a 2% difference a switch is interesting as it would enable me to maintain income levels whilst reducing £ committment to the market Interesting what views others have? It seems to me that the primary difference between the two; is that AV have a CEO with whom the Market has fallen in love with and who could be nearing the end of her tenure!! and LGEN has a new unquantified CEO whose strategy will not be known until June | 1robbob
14/3/2024 16:33 | Interesting price action today(and the last month of course). positive on a negative day. New highs and repeated higher lows. plenty of buyers coming in to buy the dips. | muscletrade
14/3/2024 15:10 | Hope it hasn't run outa puff, just bought another 3,000. | markth
14/3/2024 11:16 | Great to see the progress here and how well most traders are probably doing as result, but for divi return it arrives outside my perimeter for re-investing at the moment. I will keep the current holding for the Long Term income, which I believe will grow YoY for the medium term GLA | tornado12
14/3/2024 11:10 | Whilst we are basking in the AV sunshine!!! AV now yields historically 6.9% and Legal and General 8.2% That is a huge yield pick up? The success of AVs singleness of purpose will have not been lost on LGEN | 1robbob
14/3/2024 09:54 | FWIW :- Berenberg raises Aviva price target to 550 (493) pence - 'buy' | skinny |
