05/10/2020 10:24 | LLB Bought another 5k. Manged sub 117p this time. Sure, share price may go a fair bit lower. Then, will probably buy more. Do wish Ergdogan would cool off the rhetoric. To extent he joins Putin in pressuring for ceasefire & negotiations, Aliyev will probably settle for the modest territorial gains made and cooperate. The alternative is full blown war; a lose-lose development for Armenians and Azerzis alike. | ![]() 2sporrans
05/10/2020 10:21 | I can only assume people know more from watching the news whilst hiding behind the sofa then what the company who are on the ground know.... RNS Number : 3219A Anglo Asian Mining PLC 28 September 2020 Anglo Asian Mining plc / Ticker: AAZ / Index: AIM / Sector: Mining 28 September 2020 Anglo Asian Mining plc Statement on Situation in Azerbaijan Anglo Asian Mining plc ("Anglo Asian", the "Company" or the "Group"), the AIM listed gold, copper and silver producer in Azerbaijan, is closely monitoring the situation in Azerbaijan following the reports of an escalation of the on-going dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. There has been no impact on Anglo Asian's operations. Its office in Baku and operations at Gedabek continue to function as normal. The reported hostilities are in the Nagorno-Karabakh region and have never affected the mountainous Armenian border area near the Company's mining and processing operations. | ![]() katsy

05/10/2020 09:45 | #ilostthelot thanks.., we do not control the market or any influential events, just our positioning to be ready to capitalise IF things come our way, I just had a feeling it might be a storm in a tea cup or it could easily escalate over the weekend so I held back on Friday.. #3Sporrons, I hit the offer half a dozen times on the quote and buy, only 1 lot came at 116p though, but ask me Wednesday at the close pre XD if it was such good timing or if I was ahead of events.. :o) | laurence llewelyn binliner

05/10/2020 09:23 | Some fanciful geopolitical guesswork here. No new leader of Armenia will allow Azerbaijan to set a foot in N-K without escalating it into full-blown war. The mindset of Armenians is completely shaped by the genocide the Armenians suffered by the Ottomans. They would all rather die in combat than see their fellow Armenians in N-K subjected to the whims of Azeri rule. The Russians will be more than irked that once more Turkey is interferring within its sphere of influence. | ![]() casual47
05/10/2020 09:17 | 116p nice one you... On the ball this morning LLb. Question is will it go lower. It might well yet. I was a bit hasty last week at 128p | ![]() ilostthelot

05/10/2020 09:12 | mad foetus, an interesting view. I would guess that Russia and the West would like to see Armenia put back in its box asap, particularly as Iran is now moving 200 tanks to the border with the aim of assisting Armenia if asked. I guess the people of Armenia had no idea that this was how their 'velvet revolution' would turn out. As you say the Russians would be happy to see the leadership replaced. | ![]() lefrene
05/10/2020 09:07 | #3Sporrons... but were you able to buy at 115p..? I had to pay 116p.. :o) | laurence llewelyn binliner

05/10/2020 08:44 | Something has been bugging me about "allseeingeye". Couldn't work out what it was. Now I have. A glance through previous posts makes it obvious. 100s and 100s of posts. Yet every single one posts a statement of fact supporting or denouncing a position (ok, so whats new?) Sometimes ridiculously pro AAZ, and sometimes (as currently) overly negative. Same elsewhere. But the weird thing is this - there are no posts interacting with any other posters. no responses. No - "I agree with/disgagree with" just a post, with no suggestion that anything is else is even read on the board. Everyone talks their own book to a degree, but this seems particularly insidious to me. Time to filter. | ![]() qazwsxedc69
05/10/2020 08:43 | Here's a thought. While Russia usually backs Armenia, there was a Velvet Revolution in Armenia a couple of years ago when the hardline autocrat was replaced by a younger more popular alternative. It might suit Putin to have an example of this failing and leading to national humiliation. As NK is, according to international law, part of Az, there has been no attack on Armenian territory and he's not obliged to act. So he will no doubt be using this to both extract concessions from Armenia and also with Belorussia in mind. Replacing tough leaders with democratically elected ones doesn't end well is a narrative that works for Russia though | ![]() mad foetus
05/10/2020 08:35 | Trying to bag 5k more on seeing 115p on quote. Had to recourse to a blind buy; in the queue now. While the escalation in the violence is terrible for those afflicted, i don't see the conflict, nor its aftermath impacting seriously upon AAZ's operations or future prospects. Think dp just summed it up well. Ironically, i think the Covid threat was a fair lot greater; even now in its diminished state it looks to me to maybe merit a small discount, more than the threat from this conflict imho. | ![]() 2sporrans
