Better day at last, SIPP +0.56% with BRCI, BP. & TCN in top spots, and the pot managed +0.03% thanks to RDSB, FDI & RR.

Cold Feet this evening, but I think I'll have a go on the woodworking lathe first.

Were you thinking of me when you posted that, Skinny? I'm sure I look a lot more stressed than Mr McIntyre. He gets away from his when he goes to work!

Oil up another $1 since my last post and £ down a touch more - $53.54 + $1.235. Where does this end?

Just read your issues with DX Mr P whilst out for a bite. This is worse than the I/Rev paye demands, quite unbelievable, they don't deserve any business carrying on like that. Sold mine as well recently.

Skinny, I am told he IS the line manager! He is apparently Credit Manager but I'm hoping that's just for our account as he clearly needs more training before being allowed any more customers! I have fired off an email to their "customer concerns" team so let's see how they respond. The guy may be technically right in that we should pay them every week, but there is a way to communicate to your customers!

Michael McIntyre is brilliant!

Doesn't sound very good MrP - have you spoken to his line manager?

Talking of the Apollo - this made me laugh -

It gets better, the pillock at DX. has actually insisted on same day payment for his damn £9.49! The guy should be on Night at the Apollo!

Well, DX. have put their final nail in their own coffin as far as our business is concerned. They put our account on hold for a September invoice of £9.49 which we hadn't even received, and they never told us so customer goods never got collected. With their stupid accounting system, it appears they expected payments from us on 26th September, 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th October and the total amount due is only just over £300 as we had virtually stopped using them after the last saga! Sorry but I can't do a payment run every single week just to satisfy that obnoxious individual so we are closing our account. More importantly, he must be treating others like this so I'm getting out while there is still something left of my investment!

Oil hitting new highs in sterling as the £ falls below $1.24 and oil rises again - it's gone from £27 to £41 in 6 months.

CPI is going to look terrible in late winter/early spring. What will the B of E do if CPI hits 5%? It will be a one-off spike that will ease over the following year or two but the B of E made the mistake of cutting bank rate recently. Will they make another mistake? I would imagine the newspaper headlines will terrify people with fixed mortgage rates ending There was a surge in housing transactions in summer 2015. I'll bet there will be a lot of 2-year fixes coming up for renewal shortly after the coming jump in CPI in H1 2017.

Nearly topped up on TCN this morning as it seemed to be starting to move with trading update imminent (tomorrow I think) and dithered at 9.99p so a quick kick may be in order!

Morning

Periodic shakeout of IGR taking place -7.6% this morning. Thought share price was a bit overstretched and sold some more last week. Been an excellent ride and still holding for longer term.

Falling LLOY nearing my 50p ceiling again as I initially bought @ 48 & 49 in July, rubbing off on LLPC unfortunately as well.

Central heating more seriously switched on as outside temp just 9C, gas boiler was serviced last week ok.

Personally I think it is all wrong that they can make it look like the business was just "taken over" when it was actually folded up with suppliers taking a huge hit. This happens far too often.

Skinny, I do just have a feeling we are in for a bit of a rough ride for a while.

LLOY getting ever closer to my 50p target to top up.

Morning All.

Chilly 6°C at 6:30 this morning followed by a beautiful sunny start.

I really thought the pound might have recovered slightly this morning, but no such luck it appears.

Morning.

Despite all, incl the Lloyds news I finished up exactly +1% on the week.
Folio YTD +14.65%

4/7 in the quiz.

Bird bath much in demand this morning, will have to fill it up again.

Good Morning.

I still seem to be fighting the trend - my SIPP finished down 0.14%, +0.18% on the week and is +8.08% YTD.

I've just been to Smiths to get the free Lego toy.

Enjoy your weekend.

Good luck with your extra LLOY wllm, didn't make my target but I am pretty well loaded up with them anyway!

The SIPP and the Virgin ISA actually finished the week just a touch the wrong side, but the pot managed +1.08% on the week despite LLOY! YTD figures now SIPP +12.59%, pot +5.02% and the Virgin ISA +4.37%

Have finally succumbed and bought a dashcam for the Leaf as I do encounter some loonies at times!

Brisk hill walk tomorrow morning in preparation for our Lake District trip later in the month, then a nice cooked breakfast in a little deli we have discovered (to cancel out any benefit from the walk) then off to the woods for some tidying up and log collection. Tennis Sunday, with cleaning of boat covers before and after.

Would I Lie to You followed by Have I Got News for You.

Enjoy your weekends.

+0.9%. Fairly widespread gains. BGO lively and TXH woke from its slumber in bargain territory with all of 8 trades (usually 0 or 1). YTD up to another new high at +19.9% despite the cut and run at Zamano.

Grey day after a damp start. At least the wind eased. 15.7C after 11.1C.

Some of the tomato vines seem to have died off but there are smaller new vines reaching up vertically. We are still getting a steady stam of tasty small tomatoes but I'm wondering about trying to keep the plants alive through the winter in the house as starting next year with a sprawling jungle of more mature plants would surely pay off handsomely. I can't imagine there'll be enough sunlight but we'll see.

Have a good weekend all.

Well, I bought some more LLOY, but, who knows, perhaps 50p beckons. I would have thought the GOV selling their stake would be a good thing for the share price in the long run,
Also took a small bite at CPI and averaged down on CWD. Busy day !
