Aleman, it's not 20 days from end of month, that we could cope with. It's actually 20 days from date of invoice so the payment date will actually change every month with potentially two payments each month. We probably ignored it when we signed up to use them thinking they would be more than happy once they saw our payment record, but the fact they have suddenly decided to implement it, and with an unreasonably harsh attitude, does concern me. The only way we can attempt to cope with it is to mark their account for immediate payment then at least each invoice will get flagged up once it has been approved against the shipping manifest, but it just makes them less attractive to deal with, even without the obnoxious character in their accounts dept!

blueliner, DX. would owe me around £700 in the SIPP if I dumped them now which is quite a lot to lose just on a principal, but it does show a worrying failing on their part. It looks like their payment terms are 20 days from date of invoice which is very difficult to administer as it doesn't match any standard payment terms so it means their account would have to be treated totally manually which is a pain in the ar*e and not really worth the hassle. I thought you were supposed to make things easy for your customers!

Not a good advert for DX, Mr P, I am wavering on this also, the Co is being described as the 'living dead' by Small Cap Value blogger Paul Scott following DX recent results.

-0.39% today. [FTSE 250 -0.53%]

Worst value fallers : HSD -3%, PEW -2.5%, IRV -2%, HAYT -3.9%, BRSN -1.5%, PHNX -1.2%.

Highest value riser : IGR +2.3%.

Improving day with temp rising to 19C, feels colder indoors.

It's been a strange old day, been just about blue for 95% of it but both ended down SIPP -0.05% BP., IKA & PEW and the pot -0.74% AIEA, RDSB & AMS.

Have to sit quiet and count to ten on DX. before I throw the towel in as we've just had a really obnoxious guy on the phone accusing us of being bad payers when they have had their money in their bank on the last working day of the month every single month without fail. Turns out they think they want paying half way through the month and not 30 days end of month as every other supplier. If that's the case then fine let's have a sensible discussion about it but don't suddenly get all threatening after 18 months when we thought everything was fine! One half of me is pleased they are chasing their money, but this is NOT the way to approach it and I wonder how many other good paying customers they are likely to lose!

We stopped using our dishwasher a couple of months ago as it was managing to put steam into the cupboard under the sink so clearly something has gone awry with it. As it's 18 years old, I think a replacement could be in order!

Good Morning.

My SIPP finished down 0.93%.

Another fairly decent day yesterday and dry over night - I planted 400 daffodils and tulips plus a sack of crocuses.

We have a new washing machine and dishwasher arriving today - its strange what makes women happy! :-)

Morning All.

Another wet night with a grey start this morning, low of 11.9°C after around 18°C top yesterday.

Looking for a much better day today, fingers crossed.

I'm down -1.439% on the day today (FTSE100 -1.323%).

Worst falls: PSON -4.22%, TW. -4.05% and KGF -3.89%.

Only 3 rose: NG. +0.42%, S32 +0.36% and TATE +0.14%.

I decided to top up PSON this morning, but they continued to fall during the day. I got about 2/3rds of the fall though. Deutche Bank seems to be behind today's gloom, if Bloomberg is to be believed.

A few spots of rain this morning, but that has been it. Some sunshine from mid-afternoon onwards.

-0.6%.

15.4C. Felt cooler since it was grey, wet and breezy.

Doing really well with the tomatoes. Picking a half dozen small ones a day and rising. Loads to go at. Still seem to be swelling indoors even if vines are slowly all headed to the floor. My sister says you can keep them alive for a few years - but it's warmer in Texas!

I've identified red/bittersweet/climbing nightshade in our garden. Not as poisonous as deadly or black nightshade but the red berries can be a threat to small chidren. In the process, I discovered that too many nightshade family fruits and veg can make you anxious and disturb sleep, so you might wish to avoid them if you are stressed or down - and, maybe, we should all be avoiding potato skins. A mass poisoning from potatoes stored too long made 78 schoolboys ill - with 19 having hallucinations:

Might just have to have a little dabble in a business that made 12.46% pre-tax profit last year and is currently on a p/e of just 6.09 Left it too late to jump aboard today, didn't realise what the time was!

SIPP -1.32% LLOY, BRCI & AV. and the pot -1.03% LLOY, LGEN & DC.

LLOY looking very tempting for another top-up.

Ripper Street clashing with Cold Feet this evening, the latter will get recorded now we have caught up.

Good Morning.

I started a Windows 10 update at 5:50 this morning - it finally finished after hanging, about 15 minutes ago - progress eh!

Looking at the screens, I shouldn't have bothered.

Morning All.

Not sure our small piece of woodland is going to make our fortune, but we shouldn't have to buy any logs for the woodburner for some time!

Interesting about Alzheimers Aleman.

Went to the boat show with the main aim of getting a fender cover for our large "ball" fender and came away with a frying pan! Also discovered two boats we rather like the look of, one which would suit us now and the other which would be ideal for retirement when the pace would slow somewhat. Now where did I put that £680K? ;-)

+0.4% on Friday. YTD +16.3%.

We're getting a steady stream of small ripe tomatoes, as well, probably a few more than we need so we won't have to buy for a few weeks. Only had a few went yellow first - those that went very pale green before turning. Presumably the darker green ones hide the yellowness before reddening, so most seem go orange rather than just yellow first. I've learned to pick them before they get too red as they end up too soft, although very sweet, after they ripen a touch more on the table. I would imagine you more experienced hands know all this already. Overall, they are pretty good and on a par with premium brands from the shops.

Got an ear of corn that looks about half edible, although rather small. Still a few not picked yet so might yet have a modest success before the frosts.

Morning, an average 3/7 for me.

-0.05% yesterday. [FTSE 250 -0.36%]
Worst value fallers : BA.-2.4%, BEZ -1.8%, GVC -1%.
Highest value riser : IGR +4%, SDV +1.5%, LLPC +1%.

A gain of +1.2% for the week, Folio YTD +13.5%.

Funds Network has gained slightly @ +33% thanks to more sterling weakness & Japanese monetary policies.

Finally realized why my small holding in S32 has had a good run of late [virtually unnoticed], due to coking coal prices, if the selling socks are on next week could be one to go.

Enjoy your w/e.
