Managed 1.1115 against the euro earlier, looks like I may have timed it reasonably well.

We saw a high of 15.2°C yesterday and the day rounded off with some lovely sunshine and clearer skies but the temperature held up quite well overnight with a low of 10.8°C

Looks promising for a reversal of yesterdays falls.

My opinion of William Hague has gone up. I think he is spot on



Given the current level of the £ the UK is actually in a position to raise rates without much collateral damage. I wonder if May has the guts?

Looks to be down around 0.5% or just under, could have been worse I guess!

-0.54%, could be more as ADVFN Portfolio figs don't look correct [ FTSE 250 -1.04%]

Biggest faller was BGO -9.9%, hard landing for all those who bought on ST tip.

Highest value riser : CSN +2%.

Stayed dry all day, but a nip in the air.

PS See we have been drawn this year against Boreham Wood away in Cup draw, another potential banana skin !

-0.2%. Bango eems to go down as quickly as it goes up. To be expected with a high growth but not-yet-profitable company, I suppose. Fortunately, only a modest holding.

Mostly sunny. 15.7C after 9.0C. Managed to just finish cutting the grass - actually more hoovering up the leaves - before the obligatory shower arrived. Will that be the last cut of the season as there is a wintery forecast for the rest of this week? Starting to feel a bit chilly already under a clearish sky.

CRX doing its best to reduce the losses today but still not looking great. Will be out for the rest of the day which may not be a bad thing!

Morning , 4/7 for me.
+0.5% yesterday, saving what had been a poor week but still ended down -0.55%.
HAYT rose the most, folio heavyweight fallers GVC, IRV, IGR suffering in various factors/degrees.

Future upside looks limited will be happy to keep the YTD in double figures by y/e.

Folio YTD +14.1%.

Have bought some MARS this week after results, also some BKNR where the discount to NAV sticks out somewhat.

'The Fall' continues to score highly on the blueliner level of suspense, even my favourite Wallander has joined the cast now.

+0.3%. YTD +19.3%.

13C after 8.4C. Cool damp start dried out gradually but never really warmed despite the sun showing up late on.

Have a good weekend if the rain will stop.

Well that was a surprise with two lots falling, but luckily the right one gained this week! The SIPP managed +0.67% on the week and is now at another all time high and +13.34% YTD. Fallers on the week were pot -0.51% & Virgin ISA -0.92% taking them to +4.49% and +3.45% YTD

I have to admit the managed funds performed well this week but I also had a bit of luck on some of my top-ups.

Weather not looking great and lots of things to do so we'll have to see how we get on.

Update on the DX. saga. Had a sensible meeting with the regional manager and he fully understood where I was coming from and sincerely apologised for his credit manager's poor customer handling! The original problems seem to have been caused by the fact we were originally a Nightfreight customer and only recently got transferred to the DX system at which point our payment terms changed to weekly. It seems all new DX customers have to abide by those terms but of course we aren't a new customer! However, it looks like we have ironed out the problems and should now be able to get on with life. Got the feeling they are generally making a huge effort to turn things around, so my DX. shares are safe for a while longer!

Aleman, I'm already sick of the rain and we haven't really had much here. Need to give the boat a run this weekend as it won't be moving for at least the following two while we are away. Rain seems to feature on the forecast.

Well lay lady lay!

Glad of my recent UU. top up which helped secure a tiny +0.03% gain for the SIPP today with NG. & INTU also helping out. Not so good for the pot which fell -0.31% due to LGEN, LLOY & SGC

Not such a bright day today although a few spells of sunshine here and there.

Clash between Apprentice & The Fall tonight and also Paranoid which we haven't had a chance to check out yet.

Mostly grey and wet. The briefest of sunny spells saw us reach only 12.7C after 7.1C last night.
