03/10/2016 17:32 | Eased through the afternoon to close at the low. Still +0.7%, though. Bango perky again but can it hold it when the Investor's Chronicle tip wears off? The clear sky suggests another cold one but there's a slight breeze tonight so probably no frost this time. I collected the last of the corn yesterday. One dark yellow fully formed cob and two lighter halves. The full one had an odd but pleasant chewy texture and was delicious. | aleman
03/10/2016 17:26 | My SIPP finished up 0.60%. I've decided to sell my remaining IAG - they have been languishing for most of this year but are still around double what I originally paid - they money will be of more use elsewhere. I thought bringing back Cold Feet wouldn't work, but happily it has and I thought last weeks episode was the best so far! | skinny
03/10/2016 17:16 | Managed to move a few of my ZMNO Good day, with the SIPP managing +0.79% thanks to top risers BP., PEW & GSK whilst the pot edged ahead by +0.59% with AMS, RR. & RDSB supplying the gains. Ripper Street clashing with Cold Feet tonight but I'm out so we'll have to record Cold Feet to skip through the adverts then iplayer Ripper Street. | mrphil
03/10/2016 16:24 | Aleman, if the pound falls much further then I'll have no choice but to increase prices. Been holding off and absorbing the losses but I can't live with it below 1.2 at current selling prices. | mrphil
03/10/2016 16:10 | I see the pound is plumbing new 2016 lows. Won't be long before we're talking of parity with Euro and $. Feels very warm here this afternoon after the slightly frosty start. The sun feels to have some power despite some thin high cloud so the air must be dry down here. THe high is already in at 15.5C. | aleman
03/10/2016 15:03 | Been continuing with the tidy up on a few holdings in the SIPP. The last few pounds worth of WTG have been sitting there showing almost total loss from the old QPP days so I got rid of those. I rounded up my WYG to make it slightly more worthwhile holding them, although I should have done that two years ago! I have also rounded up the PETS I got allocated at the IPO. That's reduced the spare cash but it will increase a bit again once I get shot of ZMNO Lovely having dinner out in the garden at lunchtime although the thermometer was only at 14.8°C in the shade! | mrphil
03/10/2016 11:19 | +2°C this morning, outside our back door. A definite touch of autumn. DF | deanforester
03/10/2016 10:24 | Oil looks to be breaking upwards out of a triangulation. Should be good fo $60+? free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | aleman
03/10/2016 10:11 | The article was released online last Wednesday. It hit the streets in the magazine on Friday. | aleman
03/10/2016 09:57 | Bango was given a write up by Simon Thompson in the IC on friday. | mozy123
03/10/2016 09:40 | GBP Manufacturing PMI 55.4 52.1 53.4 | skinny
03/10/2016 09:35 | MrP - It's so hard to believe most companies meet our standards these days - just some hide it better than others! 2.9C here at dawn and our first light air frost of the season in a few places. A little bit of mist made it pretty when the sun came up. Bango looks to be on the move - and in the right direction! | aleman
03/10/2016 08:32 | Morning All. Lovely day yesterday but it only reached 15.8°C and we saw a very chilly low last night of just 4.9°C so the log burner would definitely have been going had we not been out till late on the water! Aleman, that last revelation on ZMNO just about seals their fate as far as my holding is concerned, not the sort of company I want to be part of. Just not sure whether to wait for a possible bounce as they now owe me quite a chunk. | mrphil
01/10/2016 16:44 | We wait and see. | freddie ferret
01/10/2016 16:32 | I did the pub quiz this week (badly). I have learned to see the late night (after 11pm) traffic home as an economic indicator. It was dead in the last recession. Currently very busy - both passenger cars and HGVs. But is busy now a good time to sell when dead proved a good time to buy? Remember, Q2 had the highest number of UK profit warnings since 2008. What happns next? | aleman
01/10/2016 16:12 | Tomato plant now doing well after having been nearly killed by the three heat waves during the summer, lots of new flowers not sure if they will result in anything. It is now getting cold at night. Some up, some down. We wait and see what October will bring, crash or breakout. Consumer confidence seems to be strengthening and locally the economy seems to be buzzing. | freddie ferret
01/10/2016 10:26 | Morning, just 2/7 for me. Not a brilliant trading week -0.9%, it was contained until the ZMNO plunge Fri pm. YTD +13.6%, incl 3rd quarter dividend payments. Happened upon new series 'Level' on last night's TV, set around Brighton, worth a watch definitely. What with The Fall [BBC], Paranoid & DCI Banks plenty to go at, ITV have certainly upped their game when it comes to making/commissioning these gripping drama type series. Good casting all round, diction was clear so didn't need the subtitles. Good w/e all. | blueliner
30/9/2016 18:48 | 4/7 for me. I'm up +0.030% on the day today, due to some dividends coming in (FTSE100 -0.15%) and up +0.09% on the week (FTSE100 -0.290%), but up 12.32% YTD (FTSE100 +10.53% and HIX +13.76%). Best rises: MKS +3.11%, TW. +2.73% and TSCIO +1.67%. Worst falls: CLLN -2.56%, RIO -2.26% and LLOY -1.69%. German banks still causing worries. Second flu jab day tomorrow, so I did the shopping today. Dark Star Brewery have their Beerfest tomorrow, so I may indulge. +9°C this morning, about +16°C later. One shower midmorning. Enjoy the weekend. DF | deanforester
30/9/2016 17:29 | -0.7%. YTD +16.0%. Fortunately Zamano was relatively small for me, too. Very disappointing communication from them this year. After further thought, I sold out completely, though my latter trade does not show. I was worried they might delist if profits are meagre and an acquisition is overpriced or fails. It seems unpredictable now so I'm out. 18.0C after 7.8C. Got caught in a sharp shower but was lucky to have taken my brolly. Have a nice weekend, all. | aleman
30/9/2016 17:13 | My SIPP finished down 0.34%, -0.22% on the week and is still languishing +7.90% YTD. Enjoy your weekend. | skinny
30/9/2016 17:04 | Poor week. SIPP -0.50%, pot -0.87% and the Virgin ISA -0.33% taking the YTD to +12.69%, +3.90% and +4.47% so not too bad. Booked to take a friend/colleague out on the boat Sunday so we're hoping they are right about the weather! Enjoy your weekends! MrP | mrphil
30/9/2016 16:32 | Aleman, that's the conclusion I had just about come to with ZMNO but I've been running around like a mad thing today organising our Stocktake so I've missed the boat to sell any today. Thankfully I don't have a huge amount but still enough to dent the figures today. | mrphil
30/9/2016 16:01 | I sold half of my ZMNO. The growing cashpile was always reassuring but talk of using it for an acquisition always made me a bit nervous. Now we see the share price has settled roughly at the cash value - but what is the outlook? Overpaying for a growing but unprofitable acquisition out of desperation? And is the company still profitable or not without that? It just is not clear. The warning might as well be written in Martian for what it passes on to shareholders. Do they know? | aleman |
