All of a sudden an opportunity is there to buy in cheaply. These last few weeks have seen the share price retrace - just another 2p or so more and I will reach my target for a top up.

GI - right on - discussion on a sensible thread is something I value. We all need ideas; and I need ideas at the moment as I've been profit-taking a few winners recently. It is why I started the JDT (SPLIT followers) thread a few years ago. The old thread (2003) was full of knowledgeable and successful investors, so I wanted to maintain a forum for communicating their expertise.

Even if your reaction was a little over the top, I am aware that promoting another stock is not really on, which is why I did so with some trepidation and fully understand why some find it an irritating practice.

In my defence, genuine intelligent contributors on advfn have recommended me some stocks recently which, after researching, I have bought and which have made seriously big gains (though a couple of them have not been doing so well recently as a result of profit taking). One can only do so much research oneself and it can be very useful if a genuinely thought out recommendation is made, especially after a request from another contributor.

OT apologies to all.
Your query as to where to put your profit?
Very difficult for me to pick out just one stock. Especially as I see NBL as a stock I would not want to get out of. I am steadily building my stake here and will contine to do so. I also hold AVR.
I have my own favourites of shares to invest in - BEM RGM ETO and VLE would be my clear favourites for a longer term multi bagging stock with virtually no downside. However, at the risk of being accused of ramping, one stock stands out for a number of reasons. It's one clear negative being that it is a Chinese low cap and therefore subject to a lack of market confidence where Chinese stocks are concerned. This and the risk that it might swap AIM for the HK Exchange as it gets better capitalised. Though some Chinese shares such as Asian Citrus and West China Cement (now off AIM) - those that have a longish pedigree - have outstayed the course and are now attracting the market in a big way and starting to surge. This doesn't apply to all and I am careful in recommending one that, to my mind, looks safe and solid. It is Geong, GNG, a Chinese software house that has, as its clients, virtually every Chinese blue chip company especially banking houses. In essence -
GNG's consistent adjusted profit after tax (PAT) record in sterling is (using $2:£1 for 2004):

Y/E 31/3/04 - £(0.14m)
Y/E 31/3/05 - £0.42m
Y/E 31/3/06 - £0.65m
Y/E 31/3/07 - £0.84m
Y/E 31/3/08 - £1.22m, or 4.0p EPS
Y/E 31/3/09 - £1.66m, or 5.3p EPS
Y/E 31/3/10 - £2.14m, or 6.2p EPS

The historic P/E is down to just 4.7, and the ex-cash P/E is ridiculous at just 2.1.

Given £5.6m per annum recurring revenues, a £14m order book (including recurring income) and a blue chip client list the fundamentals are pretty telling.

On a tiny m/cap, investors can buy into a highly profitable and cash/debtor-rich (ungeared) company on a low growth P/E with a blue-chip client base in the fastest growing market in the world.

The share price has stagnated for almost two years and it has been overlookd partly because Legal and General have been selling out a huge stake over a period of around twelve to fifteen months. They have now completed the sell off and in fact big investors are slowly and steadily positioning themselves and the first very early signs are there of a revival.

I won't go int it any more on this BB as that wouldn't be right. I suggest you do your research and bear in mind that I am somewhat biased as I have a huge holding myself and have been in it since the original IPO.

Target fulfilled...(from Post No.200; and 154 before that).

Problem of profit-taking is where to put the cash. MCKS in one, esp. after Friday's game-changing IMS. A 6.7% yield & 37% NAV discount makes it far too cheap; and the chunky buying last week suggests a bid or rerating just starting. I added on Friday.

Would welcome other NBL players recommendations of any undervalued VALUE stocks out there...other than AVR & NBL!

As I see it, AVR is the foundation of NBL. Some of the coins AVR own are breath taking. However, NBL is slowly but surely building a reputation as a dealer and acquiring a major foothold in the auction world. THat, to my mind is the way forward.

I would like to think that NBL goes it own way and devote it's talent to coins.

Yes with fine art and collectables breaking all the records at auction - an alternative home for cash - NBL can be seen as a fantastic opportunity. But then I am somewhat biased.

Positive article in today's Investors Chronicle must be behind today's share price move I guess (2011 bargain shares). Still waiting for that bid from SGI though...?

What with rampant inflation in the "BRIC" countries, NBL and SGI must be doing a roaring trade. UK is not too far behind, so I assume that the shares have a long way to go.

My shares club - enormously successful stock pickers - today made their 3rd purchase of NBL stock and now has a sizeable holding, similar to mine. It was a clever member who first brought this to my attention some months ago before the recent surge in the share price
