Just got back from the stamp and coin fair in york. It was fairly busy in the stamp hall but it was heaving upstairs where the coins were on display. I asked a representative from Baldwins about how busy it had been and he said it had also been as busy yesterday. It not only looked busy with people looking around but there also seemed to be quite a bit of cash flying about. The future certainly seems bright for coins imo and i will add more shares here if there is any weakness before the results which will certainly put these on the map imo!

Simon Thompson (Investors Chronicle) advises running NBL profits in anticipation of a re-rating ("Profitable Trading", 16th Jan).

Mind you, he doesn't always get it right...!

Think we can expect NBL to remain solid until more news of successful auctions - the future looks very rosy and RNSs, results and sales reports should see it to 300p by this time next year. We might even get a momentum here taking the share price higher than that. Either way this is virtually a one bagger now for me so with cash returning about 1-2% if we are lucky and the stock market generally negative, who can complain at such a superb performance over the last year especially.

WH Ireland reiterated its "buy" recommendation for Noble Investments (NBL), with a 242p target price. The antique coin seller enjoyed a successful sale of its Prospero collection in New York for 25 million dollars (16.3 million pounds) and the broker has upgraded 2012 full year pre-tax profits forecasts to 3.8 million pounds, from 3.3 million pounds. WH Ireland is also encouraged by news of a further two collections up for sale in 2012 and 2013. The broker adds that while the shares have enjoyed a recent rally, earnings upgrades have resulted in its rating falling below previous levels, at 9.4 times, compared to 10.5 times in November 2010. Hopefully these have further to go . Onwards and upwards please !

Great to return from a business trip to see this thread finally liven up. Usually it's the same three of us trying to keep the ball rolling.

So far, this has been a great investment for me and I have been building up my stake for quite a while. For obvious reasons the share price has been rising fast for some time and I am enjoying the ride. The share price is still relatively low and frankly with a bit of publicity in the press I see no reason why it will not increase a lot more with 300p beckoning quite soon - this is a long term hold and add for me and is now my third biggest holding. Well done Noble, the RNS today is a blindingly good and I am amazed at the way the share price rose so little. Look at the financials here - this is a little gem.

I do like RNS updates which include words like "excellent" and "significantly exceed"!


"...The Directors of Noble Investments UK Plc (AIM:NBL), the international rare coin and stamp dealer and auctioneer, are pleased to announce that aggregate auction sales (including buyers' premium) of approximately $31 million were achieved at 'The New York Sale' last week. This sum includes approximately $25 million from the sale of the Prospero Collection of ancient Greek coins.

As a result of this excellent result, the Directors expect that Noble's performance for the six months ending 29 February 2012 will significantly exceed the prior year's corresponding period and the year ending 31 August 2012 will also be ahead of current market expectations. "
