IC still rates NBL a buy, despite interims that I must admit I found a bit disappointing as I read through them. Shows how much I know though.

Does anyone have a feel for what we can expect from tomorrow's interims?

Sorry to keep you waiting, its Terrance Hill (THG) a property business. You have been warned!

This has a good feel about it, strong tick up beginning to look like a breakout.

Topped up on Friday as the share price is lagging the market trend due to lack of news background. Still looks a reasonable bet to me.

Yes, it all went a bit quiet on the Qatari collector - legal action progresses at its own speed, I suppose.

We should be due some interims fairly soon (?) - hopefully that should give some updates, as there's been precious little news otherwise.

Is the bad debt relevant? I understand that the company still holds the goods purchased and can therefore sell them to obtain relief. Since their price is only likely to have risen, the only problem is a slower rate of stock turnover for a while.

IC have listed Noble as one of Simon Thompsons Bargain shares of 2013.
Based on his track record this is seriously good news.
Plus maybe it means my own humble attempts at finding value investments are working. I hold one other of his recommendations :-)

Welcome inclusion of NBL in the Investors Chronicle "Bargain shares 2013" today, although there's no update on the ""well-known Qatari collector"...

Having sold all my Stanley Gibbons shares I was feeling the need to re-engage with the fine arts markets so I bought a few of these this morning. I like the look of the business and the management. Also, unlike SGI, things still appear to be ticking along in the right direction so far as both the numbers and the risk profile are concerned. The acquisition also seems set to reinforce the profile of organic growth.

In a bull market for collectables, as people fear inflation, general instability of paper assets and correlation of equities and bonds, auctioned items are likely to fetch higher prices. Fixed price retail coins from the catalogue probably lack the uniqueness and cachet that appeal to the richer collector.

So, yes, a move in the right direction.

An interesting acquisition announced today; the terms will take a bit of analysis to see how good they are for NBL...

My initial thought, for what it's worth, is that this widening of the auction facilities seems to indicate the desired direction of travel - i.e. less on retail, more on auctions for a more diverse range of collectibles and valuables.

What do others think?
