01/11/2018 10:03 | The twin towers/AECOM stuff set me off in another direction - glass. They used 1,000,000 ft2 of glass in the building so what does FLG do for glass hardness/scratch resistance? A recent PhD thesis looked at glass and ceramics and found 30 - 50% improvements. One of the benefits of working with AECOM is that they're into innovation. With the twin towers the strongest concrete around was 12,000 psi material. The came up with a 14,000 psi formulation had it tested and used it so they don't hang around. | ![]() serratia
01/11/2018 09:57 | Imagine a time in the not to distant future, when a new kid arrives on the block. We will call him 'Little FuGeR' for the sake of this tale. Imagine a BB where potential investors can go to seek knowledge and advice, and where those already invested can spend their waking hours. Imagine what could become of that BB if just say a dozen knowledgeable posters from another BB decided to 'explain' to the new kid on the block's potential followers exactly what they were actually buying into, and perhaps that they might like to consider alternatives. Imagine that happening - nah! I mean, why would it? What could possibly be the motivation for such a vile thing happening. I certainly can't think of even one reason. Oh! wait a minute - actually I can think of two reasons, and they are not a million miles from here. Best wishes - Spike | ![]() spike_1
01/11/2018 09:52 | I think it may be useful to introduce some nomencleture to describe the mismatch in market cap between VRS and its peer group. Let's look at the market cap of its peer group: XGS* $25M £20M FGR AUD$60m £32M HAYDALE £6.8M £7M AGM £21M £21M The average value here is a market cap of ~£20M The market cap of VRS is £194m at current prices. I'd like to define a new term called the "Twitter Premium" which is defined to be VRS market cap minus the average market cap of this basket of stocks. Also I'd like to define the "Twitter Multiple" as the VRS market cap divided by the average market cap of this basket of stocks. Currently Twitter Premium = £174M Twitter Multiple = 9.7 *not listed but based on last funding round | ![]() loglorry1
01/11/2018 09:45 | Thanks @ellissj but if it's the production method that's fantastic why doesn't it a) produce better graphene than competitors like FGR/XGS? b) has been able to be scaled up to industrial size since it was first looked at being commercialised about 2-3 years ago? c) have any collaborations resulted in significant sales Log It's the production method we have that sets us apart from the rest ! Logically, Vrs sitting pretty to me. Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis | ![]() loglorry1

01/11/2018 09:37 | LANSING, Mich., Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- XG Sciences, Inc. (XG), a market leader in the design and manufacture of xGnP® graphene nanoplatelets and other advanced materials, announced today that it has completed the first phase of expansion in its newest 64,000 square-foot facility. The expansion has added 90 metric tons of graphene nanoplatelet production capacity, bringing the total capacity of the facility up to approximately 180 metric tons and enabling the formulation of up to 18 million kilograms of advanced materials per year. | ![]() loglorry1
01/11/2018 09:34 | Exactly jointer. Our production method differs from rivals and clearly produces a product that interests the big names, in multi sectors. Which again confirms our versitility, and the quality/voracity of products. Ie 2D gains versus 3D gains. Neill oft says on poddy +nanene improves most things it goes into. On the last poddy, he said a test result surprised a firm who didn't think +nanene could effect any change. Seems to me we have head turning products. Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis | ellissj

01/11/2018 09:22 | @jointer131 that was over a year ago to supply just 1.2Kg of Nanene. The spec sheet for Nanene has also changed since. I note FGR have now been chosen as the supplier of choice to Manchester uni for the next few years. -------- Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is very pleased to announce that it has won a single supplier competitive tender for the ongoing supply of nanomaterials, including the Company's graphene, to the Centre for Process Innovation Limited ("CPI"). The evaluation of the tender was based principally on the quality and specification of the graphene to be supplied with additional marks awarded for price and delivery.' | ![]() loglorry1

01/11/2018 09:20 | Cost of the final Nanene powder is obviously important, so the benefits that might be obtained by produing thinner materials might not be cost-effective for the end user. | ![]() 1teepee
01/11/2018 09:19 | The existing Nanene product is already good enough for many applications and there are some applications for which we don't have to exfoliate our graphite to such a high level as 90% < 10 layers. | ![]() 1teepee |
